Well, I tell you what, it was great meeting all my old friends, making new friends. It was just amazing last night, walking in, you know, you get that feeling, you know, I get that kind of feeling. It was like, wow. I’ll be honest with you know, I don’t even know how I ended up back here because Tony and Shelly somehow spent a couple of nights in my house. And went to bed after a couple of, you know, drinking lemonade at night. So we woke up in the morning, seven o’ clock in the morning, went to bed two. I see her, Tony and Hassef, six o’ clock in the morning, on the computer. And they’re all excited and going. I said, what the hell are they doing? They’re saying, oh, were up an hour ago. I said, you’re up an hour ago.
We just went to bed three hours ago, right? So all of a sudden I said, man, this is exciting. I thought I was done working. I’m looking to go to the beach every day, drive around, walk around 4 o’, clock, trying to figure out what restaurant to eat in, what kind of wine I’m drinking today. You know, that was my life. So a couple of days go by. So went to Daytona beach to their condo. I don’t even know how I ended up there. I took something for them anyway, so I go there and they go, you should sign up. I said, signed up? Well, Tony put me in the system. The next thing you know, I got my old code number. Then Tony pulled up my.
We logged in and I saw in three and a half years, it showed my income was 647,000. When I quit the business, my rolling 12 month income was on my fourth diamond. Matter of fact, me and Keith was in Atlanta. It was Sunday afternoon, went to church. You know, were drinking lemonade again. So what happened was we’re going on the Monday morning tv, I’m getting recognized for my four diamond. And Keith was probably going to talk about credibility and stickability and all these abilities, right, that we learned over the years, right? So I said, oh, so after that, things happen, life move on. I went on, opened up my own business. I got involved in the mortgage business. I tell my wife when I make 25,000, she need to quit her job. She said, 25,000? I say a month. She goes, okay.
In that time she used to work for a company called First Data. She had like 3,200 employees. You know, that’s the company. Every time you swipe your credit card, it goes through her office, right? So we started the mortgage business. The next thing you know, I was getting robbed. Millions of dollars. I got a 1099, say I made 200,000. And then I found out from the IRS it was really 2 million. I said, I never knew I made 2 million. I knew I made the money, but I never seen it right? So I ended up opening up my own business after that. Then we end up building a business. She took 49 state licenses all around the country to get her own mortgage business.
We end up, I think in about seven years, we had a little over 14,000 loan officers running around all over the country. And I was like a madman, sleeping in airplanes, flying all over the place. Then what happened to Market? It went south. We got rid of the company, sold it off to a couple of people, and I started an insurance business, an agency. And I did that for the last 15 years. So I was pretty much winding down. And what happened was we only worked on referrals. So if you’re a business owner and you know somebody else with a business, we did the referral business, right? And in that business, to make an extra $100,000 a year, you walk the street one day a week, you make an extra $100,000 a year. I was even too lazy to do that, right?
So when they come and they show me and I’m seeing all this excitement, oh, I just made 2 million. Shit. I love money. Anybody love money? Only a couple of people love money. Wow. They don’t love money over here. Oh, I want. No, have the room. Love money. Have the room. Don’t love money. I don’t want. Listen, if you don’t love money, every time you get a check, send it to me. I’ll give you my email. All right? Send me the money. Anyway, so we got excited, and then I tell you, this woman, Shelly. I know Tony, he does what he does. But this woman right here, dude, if you could find wives like that. Holy crap. I watch her operate, and I go, man, I must be sleeping. Watching her operate. It was like.
It reminds me, like, 40 years ago, 30 years ago. When you’re young, you’re full of, you know. Now I’m 69. One guy tell me, hey, when you pass 60, when you see a bathroom, use it. So I’m sitting there. I’m sitting there saying, damn, I got to squeeze a little bit more here. But anyway, let’s get back on track. So, you know. But it’s exciting. I’ll be honest with you. It’s really exciting. I feel like I got a New life again. I feel like I’m. I could probably do this. Not probably. I will do this. I will do that. I think I’m gonna take a big shot at this. Now, I’m not threatening anybody, but you know what? When I see guys like Hassef and look at Luke Costello. Ray. Ray Costello. Luke Costello. I saw his son.
I said, holy cow, Ray, that was you 25 years ago. You only look like £400 difference right now. I said, man. Then I saw Roy. Roy never had hair, right, but it looked like he’s shaving his head. You know, I don’t understand that. I saw Cardino. Cardino looks great, man. Joe, you look freaking awesome. It must be your wife because she looks 10,000 times better than you. I mean, but hey, look, I am just so freaking excited to be part of this whole thing. I was gonna. What’s your son name again? No, not Blake Hogan. I was gonna come up here and say, recruits equal promotions. Promotions equals sales. I said, oh, crap, he already did that. I gotta come up with some new crap now. So, you know, nothing changing. But the bottom line is, you know, we can start building this thing.
Well, you know, I just need to like get it going here. But it is a language, right? Success is a language. We learned that on. You know, I remember when I first started, they said, do whatever your upline does. Well, Roy used to come to the meeting with a yellow pad. So I start walking around with a yellow pad, right? They said, sit in front in the front row. We start sitting in the front row, right? We come 4 o’ clock in the morning to get the front row, right? And then what I learned in meetings, when there ain’t no more seats in the front row, I take one from the back and start a new front row, right? You got to be in the front. That’s what winning takes. It’s a language. You got to learn the language, right?
But anyway, I’m not going to take much more you guys time because, hey, one thing I want to tell you. I want my wife to stand up. I don’t know why, she don’t even want to sati. Stand up. Stand up. She is just awesome. You know, she used to think like, recognition is corny and because, you know, corporate America, you know how that feel, right? Corporate America. So finally I got her into like revving up a little bit in the business from behind the business. But she’s still tight with that stuff, you know, I mean, but she’ll loosen up now. We need a little more meetings like this. I can’t even believe I’m actually talking to a crowd like this. This is freaking unbelievable. I just got. I feel like my blood is starting to pump again. Holy crap, man.
I feel like it’s like. Wow. Anyway, Keith is here. Hey, nice to meet all of you. We’ll see you again.
