Hey, you got to have a bay shop that’s going to work because that’s where you get your first generation regional vice presidents from. You all know that. And you know, this is first of all. And thank Keith and Danielle for putting this Together, all the RVP’s for being here and teammates. I’m just really. I’m thankful to be in Primerica. I’m thankful to have an opportunity. I thank Joe Cardena, wherever the hell. Joe. Joe brought me to my first meeting. He field trained me. He was unbelievable. He was going to tell that story, but we’ll save that for another day anyway. You know, I was listening to Blake and Hogan, and the thing that stood out to me listening to them was, yes, they both have great direct uplines.
But better than that, what I heard and what I witnessed was two incredible students that are emotionally involved in getting better, winning, growing, and building something special. And I think that is something that everybody in this room can do. They’re not doing anything special. I mean, Keith just talked about Blake watching the video 100 plus times. Any one of us could do it. And by the way, a lot of us could watch it 100 times but not watch it the same way. Are you watching it with an intent to grow and get better? And like Bernard was talking about, is it part of your training to. To take yourself to the next level? Like, how serious are you about building a company within a company? Or do you just want to win the trip?
Or do you just want to get somebody to mention your name at the meeting? Y’ all with me, like, you can’t eat a trip. You need to understand that. Okay, so anyways, I came into this business because, well, you know, Keith actually closed the meeting when I was. When I came to the meeting and I heard that we had a contract to recruit and enroll people for Primerica and we could get paid on their efforts. So we could recruit and enroll as many people as we want to. And each time somebody who comes into this business goes out and becomes a regional vice president, and the average vice President makes over $100,000 a year, this company will pay you over $50,000 a year, every year for the rest of your life.
And I heard that, and I was dumb enough to believe it, and I. So I just want to. I’m going to give you four things to think about that kind of may help you. Okay? I just jotted them down as the meeting was going on. One of them is you need to recruit directs consistently. That means, like every day with an intent to find Somebody who’s going to build a monster business. And you wake up every day thinking about, who am I going to meet today that I could get into the business or could lead me to somebody who could become a Ray and Carroll Costello, or could become a Tony and Shelly Narain, or could become a Keith Otto. And you need to believe that’s going to happen. And you need to.
If you’re consistent, it’s impossible not to find what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for it, don’t forget to look for what you’re looking for. Some of us forgot why we came here. We came here. Did you come here to be free, or did you come here to just make a few bucks or make a lot of bucks? I came here to be free. So direct recruits is where everything starts. And if you’re consistent with that, you’re gonna find what you’re looking for. Now, mindset, I think Orville touched on mindset. And Tamara, that was awesome. Mindset of building successful independent leaders is like, when you wake up every day, are you thinking about finding and building? Because those new direct recruits, you’re looking for somebody that you can work with to build successful independent leader with. True or not true.
Okay, number three, a lot of people talked about this today. You got to believe that you will win. You got to work on your belief muscle every day. And by the way, if you’re having a little bit of challenge, and by the way, you will have challenge with this. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve called Keith Otto or Joe Cardeno or Lou Vitale and said, I need to talk to you. I need you to help me get my head out of my ass because belief, lack of belief, doubt creeps in, and it’s over. Y’ all with me. So you got to believe that you will win, and you got to work on that every day.
And then the fourth thing I think you got to do is you got to work like you believe you will win, because if you work like you believe you’re going to win, then you’re going to win. I know this sounds really hokey, but that’s really all it is. The other thing, Blake reminded me of this, so I’m just going to say it. Your income is in direct proportion to the quantity of and the quality of the questions that you ask. So one of the things that I find coming to a school like this is listen to some of the questions that will work. And I. And I put this together because I don’t know what you want out of life? Okay. I want it to be free. When I came into business, skiing was really important to me. Tennis was really important to me.
And those are two things that I stopped doing because I needed to build a business. It was a choice. Some people say it was a sacrifice. I never looked at it like a sacrifice. I looked at it. It. I’m going to stop doing something that is not necessarily helping me build my business so that I can build a business. So does this thing work? Oh, I got to go backwards. One. There you go. So I have two new offices in March. One was in Avorias, France, and the other one was in Revelstoke, British Columbia, because that’s where I was. And they paid me a lot of money. So that’s Avoriasm. Just, you know, these are a couple pictures of skiing in the out. Like, this coming crap that we do is like once in a lifetime experiences. For most people. This is stuff.
This is the third year in a row I’m. I’m going to France to go skiing. That’s Fabian Cote. I think he’s at a million seven now. The guy speaks French. Look, you meet people in Primerica that, like, I want to be around people that stretch me. I want to be around people that I have fun with. I want to, like, we. It’s just. It’s unbelievable. Okay. You know, it’s just pretty. And then went helicopter skiing in British Columbia, which I don’t recommend for faint of heart, but, you know, we had. We had a blast. Okay. Yeah. Wilma’s making that go. I love it. They just dropped us off and then it’s like, see you later. Oh, Yeah, it’s loud too, you know, but my point is not that this is so wonderful. It’s like, it turns me on.
If it don’t turn you on, it doesn’t matter. But what’s unbelievable is we have an incredible team of people that are building their businesses and building their dreams and. And giving themselves a chance to someday be free. You know, I want to live. Like, I look at the way the Costello’s live, I look at the way the Otto’s live, I look at the way. You know what I’m saying? John Picone. John Picone knows exactly what the frick I’m saying. You know what we need? John will tell you. We need more fricking people. Okay? Think about this. Every one of us. Look, there’s one person that overrides everybody in this room, and there’s a lot of rooms like this that he overrides, okay? Every single person.
If you got to come look around the room and imagine you override everybody in the room and start working like you do, and you will, because it’s only a matter of time if you’re consistently, personally getting after it. You’re going to get there. You’re going to get there. I don’t know how many times I got to tell you that. I don’t know how many times any of us have to tell you that. Sooner or later, you got to buy into this. We’re not blowing smoke. It’s like, as good as it seems, Keith. I’m done a long time ago, but as good as this thing seems, it’s 10 times better. You know, they talk about, you know, what financial freedom is like, and, like, I don’t worry about crap now.
I mean, there’s a lot of stuff that I can’t do because I don’t make enough money, but there’s. There’s nothing I want to do that I can’t do. And, you know, it’s like, I’m stopped. I’m stopped. I’m asking for him. He keeps telling me to stop. I’m done. But listen, just fricking do what they’re telling you to do. It works.
