All right, guys, so we’re winding down a little bit. I hope that, you know, what you learn today, you take with you and you apply that in your life. And so what I always love about this company is that no matter where you are, there’s always somewhere else. You can be always something better. Always strive for something more, right? And never be happy and complacent with what you have, because there’s always. And I mean, I don’t mean physical things. I mean mentally, too, right? Like, expand your mind, expand your people that you surround yourself with. Make yourself a better person. I remember when I first met Keith, I was so shy. I mean, a lot of you know me now, and I’m still a shy person. I’m not very.
You know, I’m not always like, the one in your face, but I’m kind of like, I’m shy, but yet I’ve grown so much. And the reason that I’ve grown is because of this great company, this great opportunity. I mean, how do you have such a great life and not want to share it with people and especially, like, how we got here, you know? I want to show you this picture. And this is Keith and I when we first met. So this was, like, 1994. I think that’s when we met. We were at an engagement party. And thinking back, like, this is us then and where we are today, right? We had no money. I owned a nail salon. Keith was just becoming an rvp, making some cash, but spending a lot more back into his business.
And to me, it seemed like he was a multimillionaire, you know, because I didn’t know that kind of money. And I thought it was unbelievable that then I realized really wasn’t that much money. But back then, 100,000, 150,000 was a lot of money. And I just never thought that we would. I mean, I always knew we’d have a great life. But I can’t tell you that I always thought it would be like this, because I didn’t. I didn’t even know people that made this kind of money. The only person I ever met was Patty and Dennis. When I. When I first met Patty, she brought us to her house, and I was like, what in the hell? I never saw a house like that. You know, they had all this stuff. We had to take our shoes off. I was like, oh, my God.
You know, I never went in a house that I had to take my shoes off. It was just like, she. I was open to then realizing that, oh, my God, if we worked really hard, we could have a life like that, you know, but you never really believe that’s going to happen for you because you’re struggling, you’re going through things, people are rejecting you, they’re saying no to you. And not everybody has thick skin, but you have to have thick skin in this business. You have to know that in five, ten years from now, you. You can actually have the life that you see on Instagram. So we didn’t have Instagram, we didn’t have Facebook. We didn’t have anything like that. You know, we didn’t have anything to compare life to.
You guys, I kind of feel bad for you because you’re striving for something that you might not ever have because of the vehicle that you’re in. You know, you’re in Primerica now. You. Somebody invited you to this meeting today or whatever that you’ve been, you know, and now you can have that life. See, were striving for something we didn’t even know existed. Like, you know, there was nobody showing us anything. And so when we met, I was. And he would say, you know, if we do this business together, if we, you know, if you stick with it and stick with me, we’re going to have a life that, you know, you could only dream about. And I was like, wow, you know, I was just happy to not do nails anymore. That was, like, one of my goals.
I didn’t want to do nails anymore, so I was happy not to do that and that we had something that were going to build together. So as a partner, as partnership, I just encourage you. If your spouse is not really on the same page as you right now, just keep at it. Just keep at her or him. Show them what this business can do for you and your family, how it can change your family life forever, for generations to come. So. So I’m so proud of what we’ve built together. I’m really proud of that. Because leaving this now to our kids and having them have the opportunity is just incredible. Where could we have ever built wealth like this, helped so many people in that path? We never did this business for money. Honestly, I. I think Keith is so.
He’s just a man of his word, and he just. He never did anything that was for himself. It was always for us and for our team and for everybody else. If you are chasing money all the time, you’re never going to accumulate anything that’s worth anything. If money. Money matters. I’m not saying it doesn’t. I mean, it affords you a great life, but it’s not all about the money, right? It’s about family. It’s, you know, helping people. It’s about what you can do for your family. It’s about showing your kids right and wrong, you know, treat people a certain way, and they’ll treat you that same way back. And I’m so proud of my kids. Like, I am so proud of my kids. Watching my son today, I was tearing up because it’s amazing for me, because he’s more like me, you know, He’s.
He used to be, but now he’s, like, so. Like, so. Oh, my God, he’s so full of energy, and he’s, like, so confident. And Dom’s always been like that, you know? So I. It doesn’t surprise me that she’s the way she is, but Blake surprises me because he’s. He’s always growing, and so is Dom. But Dom’s always been a people person. Dom’s always been the first one to be like, hi, I’m Dom. You know, and Blake would just stand in the background and be just like, yeah, I don’t need to be, you know, acknowledged or whatever. He would just, like, be okay with that. So I. So today, watching him and watching, you know, what you’ve accomplished, Blake and Dom, I’m so proud to be their mom. And I’m so lucky that we. I’m so lucky that we didn’t quit.
I’m so grateful that we never gave up. And I just want to encourage you not to give up on your dreams. When things aren’t going your way and you feel like you. You know, this isn’t working and your people aren’t showing up, and you can make up a million excuses why you should quit. I just want you to know, don’t quit. Because in the back of your mind, every day, you’re going to wonder what your life would have looked like if you just stuck it out, if you just stayed around, if you just did what you were supposed to do, if you just worked a little bit harder than everybody else. Right. What would your life look like in five years from now? I want you to envision that.
Like, I want you to see that anything is possible, anything that you want to do, any. Any ideas that you might have. The only way you’re going to get that is owning your own business, and that’s Primerica. So I just want to. You could show the next picture, Mom. So these are my little babies, like, so long ago, right? And just to see how fast time goes. Time goes so fast. Guys, you turn around and you know, you’re 58 years old almost and you’re like, wow, where did my life go? Right? It’s been a great life, but wow, it went fast. And the next, you know, we’re on the back nine. I always say that we are, we’re living our life now to the fullest.
And I’m so happy that we’re able to do that with my family in a business that now is going to be passed down to them. But not only passed down to them, they’re growing their own business and they are being respected by everyone because they are going after it. They are not just sitting back and going, oh, I’m going to take over one day. I don’t need to do anything. Like, they are literally acting like they have nothing. And maybe that’s how everyone should act, you know that you have nothing and this is your only chance. It’s your only opportunity. How hard would you work? How much further? How long would you stay up at night? Would you take no for answer? When I talk to my son, he puts me in voicemail all the time because he’s busy.
I mean, I get a little pissed, you know, but he. It’s always Dom I talk to 600 times a day. There’s like, there’s nothing. Dom’s like, what should I have for lunch? What should I eat for dinner? Hey, mom, what do you think about this? And I love that about her and you know, because she is truly my best friend. She really is. But my son’s busy and you know, sometimes it doesn’t have time for his mom. But that’s okay. I know he’s busy growing his business and that’s good. As long as we’re in the same business, I’m happy. And then. Okay, so this was Dom, Mutual funds. So I said, where does daddy save his money? And she says, mutual funds. And then I say, how does daddy grow his business? And she says, recruit.
You know, so like as a little kid, these kids were already thinking and you know, and being exposed to this business. And just like Elora is going to be. Laura’s going to take over one day. I mean, she’s a tough little one. She is going to be like a spitfire. So I think that’s all my. Oh, and then one more. Oh. If you want to follow me on my Instagram. I do show all my outfits every day. And my last picture is nope. Oh, well, it’s okay. My last picture is my now extended family, my wonderful to be son in law with Dom’s engaged to Hunter. And I just couldn’t ask for. For a better family, a better life. Thank you, guys. Thank you, the front row, for being our friends for all these years and, you know, just taking this journey with us.
And we’ve been around. We’ve known you guys for. My God, I’ll be married to Keith now. 30 Years almost. So I just want to say thank you. Thank you for everything. Thank you for being, you know, the best team that we could ever ask for, and we love you guys. Thank you so much.
