But guess what? I’m here, and that’s all that matters. And I want to say big up, Empire builders, the Jamaicans are in the building. And I’m not here to warm up the room. It’s Florida. We are already hot. I’m here to shake it up, but I can’t do it without you, so let’s get in trouble together. Just saying. So I have a few questions for you by the show of hands. Right? So I like participation. Right. I don’t want you to overthink, just your instincts. So let’s see if you can raise your hand. All the single ladies in the room, raise your hand. Oh. All right. Let the dating begin. All right. Okay. All right, seriously, how many of you believe you’re capable of. Of doing more than you did last week? How about more than you did last month?
All right, now keep your hands up. If you didn’t give it your absolute best, be honest. Right? All right, hands down. Next question. How many of you ever told yourself, I could do better, but something just isn’t clicking? Like the math ain’t mad thing, like life just won’t cooperate and be honest. Now for the last question. How many of you have ever thought, I’m just not like the top people in this room? I’m not the Keith or Daniel. This guy’s. This guy can fight taekwondo. I’m not Shelly, no matter how big I wear my hair right. I’m not Ray. He was a cop, for God’s sakes. Right? I’m too shy. I’m not the people person. I’m not sure if this is me. How many of you ever ask yourself questions? Raise your hand. Thank you for your honesty. So that’s right.
That’s where the conversation starts. Because the gap between where you are and where you could be, it’s not effort. It’s not opportunity. It’s identity. So let me ask you the real question. Who are you? Not your title, not your numbers, not your rank. Who are you when nobody’s watching? Who are you when your numbers drop to zero by zero? Who are you when a client says, no? Because most people don’t fail from lack of skill, they fail because of what they believe about themselves. Somewhere along the way, they decided, I’m not a closer. I’m not ready. I’m not like them. And once you repeat it long enough, it becomes your ceiling, and it influences your identity. Raise your hand if you can see the color of my shirt. I expect every hand to be up. Or most of them, right?
As long as you’re not colorblind. Right. Raise your hand if you can hear the sound of my voice. Awesome. You can hear. Raise your hand if you poop this morning. Ha ha. I know you’re not gonna be honest about that, right? All right. So raise your hand if you ever closed an app. Okay. Raise your hand if you have signed an iba. Now, let me ask you the next question. Why not you? Why can’t you be number one on the board? Why can’t you build a massive business? Why can’t you be the one people look to when things get hard? Everyone in this business, you look up to or admire their success started the same place as you. Surprise. They’re human, too. I love Primerica because of its diversity. So you can’t say they made it because they’re white.
They made it because they’re black. They made it because they’re Haitian. They made it because they’re Jamaican, because they’re Hispanic, because they’re gay, because they’re straight. So definitely there’s no excuse, because everywhere you look, Primerica has a successful example. So what’s the real reason, then? Because it’s not strategy. This business give you that? It’s not the market. There are people everywhere. The Earth is not running out of people. It’s not timing. There’s no better time than now. It’s belief. And I know life happened. Maybe somebody spoke something negative over your life. Maybe your mama, your dad, Maybe your setbacks. Maybe you have doubt. But what’s also real is if you walk into this room on shore, the room decides for you. But when you know who you are, everything changes. You move differently. You speak differently. You follow up differently. And you stop hesitating.
You stop negotiating with your own potential. And your results don’t change because the market changed. They change because you did. Here’s the truth. You don’t rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your identity. So if your identity is small, your results stay small. If your identity is inconsistent, your results stay inconsistent. But if your identity is strong, your results have no choice but to catch up. So today, I’m not asking you to set a bigger goal. I’m asking you to make a decision about who you are. And if your answer is based on your past, you need to challenge it. Because your past is not your potential. Yesterday’s history, tomorrow is a mystery. And today is called the present. That’s why it’s a gift. Let’s not dwell in darkness. So my time is almost up.
I got seconds to go. Let’s finish this together. But we’re not going to turn. We’re going to just turn the energy up in this room. So I want you to do me a favor. Sit up. Straighten your back. Feet flat. Shoulders back. Act like you own this room. Know you belong in this room. Know you belong at the top. Embrace the change coming to your life and your business. You are ready. Now. When I say who you are, I want you to say, I know who I am. Let’s try it. Who are you? Again. Who are you? I know who I am. I don’t believe you. Who are you? I know who I am. Now listen. The next time you hesitate, the next time you doubt, the next time you start shrinking, the next time you time, I want you to hear your voice.
I want you to hear your voice saying, I know who I am. Now move like it. Act like it. Produce like it. Because the moment you decide who you are is the moment I can’t loses its power. I thank you.
