So I really don’t have hardly any notes, but I wrote, you know, I don’t know why you came here today, but I came here just because, you know.
And Pat, congratulations.
That I’m telling you, somebody producing a leader who’s building it and not an RVP yet.
And I remember going down to Tampa when Julio Soto was in an office down there and Mark was down there.
And every time I would go see him, he was just really just pumped and working.
But producing something like that is special.
I had to get my RVP contract before I got the watch.
So, Mark, I don’t wherever your hell you are.
That’s a big deal.
It really is.
But, you know, Anthony, first of all, I got so much from every speaker, but I got one thing I never heard before.
But I really want you to think about this.
And before I.
Before I read what I wrote, because I did write this, you know, we have right now, I was looking at the numbers.
I pulled up numbers this morning, and we have 27 regional vice presidents in our organization that earn over $100,000 a year.
We have another future RVP that earns over 100,000 a year, 14,000 vice presidents, over 200,000 of income, ten, over 300,000 of income, six, over a half a million dollars of income, and two, over a million.
And I started in the same place that every single person here started, scared to death, hoping that this could work, hoping that I was going to be good enough.
And, you know, it’s interesting.
I’m laughing about this now.
I came back up from Florida to come up here, and I had tickets to the Belmont stakes because I got them at a.
At a, what do you call them? The charity event.
And Joe and Denise came with Ann and I, by the way, Ann says hello.
And she would be here, but she’s been.
She has.
She has shingles, and she’s really.
She’s been hurting for almost two months.
And since.
I mean, since the day we got out of the convention.
So just say a little prayer for her.
I.
Because we got some shit to do, and it’s not that good when she’s home, you know.
But went, you know, went there, and I didn’t know what the timing was gonna be.
And I bought these things in October a year ago.
And so it was.
I think it was the 8th, the 7th, and 8 June, and the morning of the 8th was a Saturday, and that was the morning that Ray and Carol Costello went over a million dollars of income.
And you’re going to get a chance to hear from them in a minute.
But it’s really just.
I got to tell you, it’s mind boggling to go from being the only person on your team wondering if this could work, wondering if you could find somebody who’s going to do something and, you know, the whole deal.
Okay? And I want every single person in here just for a second, allow yourself to believe that what I’m saying is actually true.
It really.
Because it really is.
So the following week, and we had.
We had a.
We had a hoot up there.
It was great, you know, the whole deal, you know.
Anyway, you can’t not have fun.
I have fun wherever I go.
I’m always having fun.
Okay.
But if Joe’s there and Denise is there.
Actually, Denise is funnier than Joe when they’re together.
But.
So the following Saturday, we’re in our office in.
In Hartsdale and somebody in the room, I think it was.
Was it Renee? Is Renee here? Yeah.
So Renee, like.
And Renee’s working.
Like she’s.
She’s busting her ass and all that.
And every once in a while I take questions from people.
It was informal.
And so she asked me a question and she said, you know, when did you know, when you were building your business? When did you.
When did you, like, fully know for sure that this thing was going to work? And I said last Saturday.
And I mean that, you know, and, you know, and I wasn’t trying to be.
I wasn’t trying to be funny.
But, you know, for me, I didn’t come here to make 100,000 a year.
I didn’t come here to make 200,000 a year.
You know, as an attorney, you can go make a lot of money as an attorney.
But I forget who was talking about it.
You know, you may not have a life if you’re work.
If 100% of your income comes from your efforts, you either max out economically or you burn out.
And so the only way me as an attorney could make a crap load of money, I would not be free.
And so for me, I came in here because they said that we had a contract to recruit and enroll people for Primerica.
And we get paid on their efforts.
So we could recruit and enroll as many people as we want to.
And each time somebody comes in here and goes out and becomes a regional vice president, and the average vice president of our company makes over 100,000 a year.
When you find one of those, that’s over $50,000 a year of override income to you forever.
And I started thinking about that, you know, Joe would talk about it.
You know, he’s counting people in the op meeting, 50,000, 100,000, all that.
But I’m looking at it going, man, if I could get some people.
Because, you know, the first leadership school went to, Bob Safford was there, Joe Enser was there, Ed McGuire was there, Jim Meyer, Jim Pennilesse.
And they flew in a special guest speaker, Ronnie Barnes.
Okay? And so we had, like, major income guys.
And I’m looking at him going, somebody overrides that guy.
Somebody overrides that guy.
If I was that guy, life would be good.
And so that’s all I kept dreaming about.
And that’s all I kept thinking about.
That’s all.
I mean, that’s why I’m here.
I’m here because I want to find somebody better than me.
And that’s not that hard, but I want to find people that want something huge, and they go out there and get after it.
Ray and Carol, they’re big thinkers.
And we have an incredible hierarchy of incredible leaders that want something absolutely huge and are willing to work for it.
But I want you to think about that, because that’s why I came here.
I came here to be free.
Didn’t you? All right, so here’s what I want you to think about.
And Anthony Barone said this, and he just said it in passing.
And by a show of hands, I want you to tell me how many of you have this in your notes.
Is what I am doing right now going to get me out of doing what I’m doing right now? How many of you wrote that down? Look around the room.
Not a lot of people.
Maybe 10%.
I was talking to Steve Riz.
I said, what percentage of people you think actually wrote this shit down? Because I put stars on it.
I was like, this is.
I mean, think about this.
And somebody talked about.
I forget who was talking about time, but we’re all equally wealthy, every single one of us.
We wake up in the morning, we got 24 hours, and we got a choice on what to do our minutes.
And one of the things that I recognized when I came in here was I had to be different.
And I had to.
I had to think about my time differently.
I had to become an investor of time.
And I needed to recondition my thinking to be positive, enthusiastic, motivated, hopeful.
There was a ton of stuff I needed to change, which is why, you know, what Jason’s got going on is really valuable for you.
You would need to.
You need to make it’s a full time job to fix this.
And this always needs fixing.
Always.
I ain’t kidding.
I’m going to find out tomorrow.
How many of you think you need to fix this? And most of you have no idea what I’m talking about, which is okay, but, you know, I got in my car this morning and I was putting my crap in.
And so in the backseat of my car, I have two golf hats, two bicycle helmets.
I got golf clubs in the trunk, I got a ping pong paddle.
I brought it for you today, Joe.
So I live in the summer.
I live up in northern Westchester in the community that my mom lives in.
And there’s all these ladies that are like, between 85 and 95, and they play ping pong on Thursday mornings and Sunday from twelve to two.
And my mother.
My mother asked me to play ping pong.
And these ladies, they’re freaking.
They’re terrorists.
I mean, like, they’re good.
You know, when I used to play professional tennis and I had a ping pong table when I was growing up, but, like, I had to, like, I had to pay attention to get good enough, you know? Anyways, so I play ping pong because, you know, when your mother’s 91, almost 92, and she wants you to play ping pong, you’re frickin playing ping pong.
Okay, so.
But I want to thank the people in our hierarchy for giving me the opportunity to be able to play ping pong with my mother on Thursday mornings and Sundays.
And I play golf with my buddies, you know, on Tuesday.
And.
Where’s Tariq? Tariq.
Tariq introduced me to something special, you know.
You know, a week ago.
Look, we got opportunities to do incredible things.
However, for five and a half, six years, I did nothing.
Nothing but put my head down and go to work.
And I was dumb enough to believe them that if I took a day off, I would have to start over.
And I didn’t want to start over because they told me it would be seven years of working to get your business positioned to be free.
And so we positioned ourselves in the first five or six years to be free.
And, I mean, it didn’t happen overnight, but I’m just telling you, it will happen for you if you work at it with a belief that it will work for you.
But you have to.
I mean, you gotta be.
You gotta be serious, you know? And I don’t know how to say this, except it’s worth it.
I live on the beach, in Palm Beach.
I was.
I was in Mervyn’s office the other day.
I got 14 seconds.
Can I go over by, like, 30 seconds? I was in Mervyn’s office the other day and somebody asked me, well, where do you live down in Florida? I said, well, I live on South Ocean Boulevard.
And they said, well, do you have a house? And I said, well, I don’t have a house.
I can’t afford a house on my block.
They start at $50 million.
I said, but I have a two bedroom condo, which probably most people can’t afford.
And I kind of like it.
So I’m okay with that.
And my point, and I live on a golf course up in northern Westchester.
I can do whatever I want, whenever I want with whoever I want, however I want.
I don’t fly private.
If I want to fly private, I got to go to work and start building some new directs.
Same thing you have to do.
But I’m going to be okay.
So I just want you to know, and.
And I just want to thank.
I want to thank all of you for being here.
And I want you listen, come out of this meeting and just work like you believe.
This can work for you, and you can be free, and you can have regional vice presidents that make a lot of money.
And look, Ray, Carol Costello make a million and override a guy who makes a million four.
And I got news for you.
Chris is going to go right to three.
He ain’t stopping.
And these guys are like, Willie, we’re going to dust him.
Okay? So you want that? All right, so thank you, Joe.
Thank you, Denise.
Thank you, everybody.
