I’m a little excited, just a little bit.
And I’ll tell you, I feel like, guys, I’ve been here it’s crazy.
I think I’ve been here about 25 years, which is insane, and I still feel like 18 years old.
I still feel like the excitement that I have is of the excitement of when I first walked in to see my opportunity.
This business is incredible, guys, right? And I want to show you guys some pictures really quick.
But wrote down, we can’t become what we need to be by remaining what we are.
We can’t become what we need to be by remaining what we are.
And so hopefully you got a lot out of this event this week, but I wanted to show that first.
Wilma, if you could help me.
And Raquel, I love you, girl.
Wilma, if you could help me.
That first slide that I sent you.
But if you didn’t get it’s all good, right? Joe, can you pass me my iPad really quick? Maybe the front row will see that really quick.
Yeah, that’s okay.
I wanted to show you this really quick because Glenn’s dream was always to buy a place in Hawaii.
Ever since I met Glenn, he’d always tell me, I want to move to Hawaii.
Carlos, you probably know, he’d always say, I want to go to know one day.
And I’ll follow Glenn to the end of the earth, right? But what I wanted to show you guys coming up, one of the things that we’re doing is that we’re buying an apartment at the Ritz in Waikiki for Glenn.
That was always Glenn’s dream.
And so, I don’t know.
It’s all good.
So we’re doing that.
We just bought this beautiful place in New York City.
And I think it’s pretty beautiful.
I think it’s pretty cool.
But we just bought this beautiful place in New York City between park and Lex.
And I grew up on 100 and twelveTH Street between Lex.
Anyone from New York, right? I grew up in a place that’s called El Barrio in New York City.
Right.
And that’s uptown New York.
And I used to walk down Fifth Avenue and look at all the stores and go, like, one day I don’t know what these people do, but one day I want to live here.
And Glenn are looking for apartments, and he’s like, Babe, let’s look at this.
And Glenn always told me, see, we just got to save money.
I come from a strong Latin background and a little bit about Latinos.
We like to spend a little bit of money, but not Latinos.
Just everybody who likes to spend some money in here, right? So Glenn would go, see you.
We can’t spend.
We got to save.
I’m like dang.
Glenn, don’t be cheap.
We got to buy.
I got to get my nails done.
I got to get my hair.
He’s going to no seal, I promise you.
If we just duck down and save.
I promise you that we’re going to be able to do what we want, when we want, how we want.
And so I want to give it up for Glenn.
Give my husband a hand, guys, because he’s just made all of my dreams come true.
I’m so thankful.
And Wilma, will we have it up? Oh, yeah.
Here we go, guys, real quick.
So I wanted to show you guys that now that’s the building we just moved into and we just bought in that building, hawai is by the time we’re in Waikiki, he’ll have that apartment.
And I’m excited.
Guys, anyone want to make their dreams come true? Right? And this is just a little piece of ours.
And there’s one place that I can’t say yet that we’re expanding to, and once that’s finalized, it will be that.
But we’ll be in three different islands.
We’ll have a place in three different islands, which I’m really excited about, and offices as well.
Also, we could go to that next slide.
Wilm, thank you.
Oh, it’s on here.
Just shared.
Okay, cool.
Wanted to show this really quick.
If you look at that picture, that was Glenn and I think we’ve been together 18 years.
That picture is about 18 years old.
He had glasses.
He’s got laser.
Our team and I put a picture up at Keith and Danielle Oto.
They’ve just always been, I think, as awful as were, they’ve always just been huge supporters of us, of our team, and just helping us grow the things that they’ve done.
I’m just forever thankful for them.
And one thing I know, keith closed out the RVP meeting yesterday.
He said you can’t be angry and grateful at the same time.
You have to remain grateful.
Like, write down if you start feeling, like, a little bitter, it isn’t going to make you better.
You have to write those things down.
By the way, I want to say this, and I’m not trying to be super tough as I get ready to bring my husband up, but, guys, you understand, there’s people in the hallways.
I don’t know what kind of conversations they’re having.
They’re called broke conversations.
You’re in the hallway.
They’re in the hallway having talks.
And I’m sorry, there’s not a beat up session.
But, guys, you understand the winners aren’t in this room right now.
The winners are in this room.
Listen, they said the money’s in the mic.
The guys that are in the hallway.
I mean, I don’t understand.
Right? This is where it’s at in here, right? Guys rubbing elbows with the guys getting promoted and so forth.
So if you could put that last picture up, that picture.
Thank you.
And that’s our RVP team, guys.
And our team here.
We wouldn’t be who we are without you guys.
You guys inspire us because we want to be the best, right, guys? And we want to take the Dragons to the best.
Right? To the top.
And so you inspire us.
And I know when we wake up, it isn’t just Glenn and I, guys.
It isn’t just us.
It isn’t just Glenn and us and our uplines and our mentors.
It’s us with our team.
Right, guys? So we got to go out there and we got to do something special, guys.
And with that being said, this guy has made all of my dreams come true.
I love him to pieces.
Guys, please put your hands together for my husband, my best friend, Glenn Lee.
All right.
Hey, Mienna.
Oh, shoot.
Airplane code.
I need the airplane code.
90 six.
Okay.
All right.
There you go.
Okay.
All right.
Can you guys see that? Are you on? Okay, cool.
Okay.
How are you guys doing? All right.
I’ve been thinking recently, and that’s scary, okay? But I was looking at this event.
I’m looking at the numbers.
I’m looking at what we’re doing.
I pulled up our numbers, and it scares me right now because I know Art Williams talked about if you’re not growing, you are what? Dying, right? So I know the first thing that we got to do as a team right now is to increase the production and the recruiting in our bay shop.
Because the first thing that I don’t care what size the hierarchy is, the bay shop is the most important, because if you tie the tubes in a bay shop, you can’t promote any more regional vice presidents.
So the most important thing is the bay shop.
So I’m going to talk about three keys to growth.
Three keys, okay? So embrace continuous learning, nurture relationships, adaptability and resilience.
Okay? So the first thing is Ben Franklin said, I knew a man that died at 25 but didn’t get buried until 80.
And what that means is that I read a statistic that said that the majority of people stop learning or they don’t read a book after high school or college.
How many of you guys went to college? How many guys didn’t go to college? Okay, now you guys are in Primerica, so you’re different.
But the majority of people after high school, if they didn’t go to college, they don’t read another book.
See, it’s the people you meet and the books you read that help you get to the next level.
So also at the same time as you’re learning, right? I was watching Top Gun.
How many of you guys ever seen that? Right? And in Top Gun, it shows Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis in 1986.
And I don’t know about you, but I saw the movie in theater, and at the time, I was, like, ten years old.
And now if you fast forward to 2023, look at Tom Cruise and look at Kelly McGillis, look at the difference.
Right now, I’m not saying what you look on the outside, but I am saying in Primerica, a lot of times we don’t age gracefully.
See, unless okay, you got to age graceful in Primerica by staying grateful in Primerica.
See, a lot of times when we’re new in the business, when we don’t understand anything, we’re the most grateful people.
We’re like, at least I have a shot.
And then all of a sudden, the longer we’re here, the more we know, right? We start learning things, and we’re like, man, now I know more stuff.
And then all of a sudden, we get bitter.
We don’t stay grateful even though we know more.
I heard somebody say, you don’t start from scratch.
You start from experience.
If right now you’re not where you want to be, right? And which is most of us, including myself, you don’t start from scratch.
You start from experience.
So I know there was a period of time between 2003 and 2004 where we recruited 77 directs in an eight month period.
I was talking to Carlos, and were just talking, and Carlos said, you know what? He did 30 people in Tampa, Florida.
And what was the conversation that we had? We said, man, you know what? It doesn’t matter.
The cars.
It doesn’t matter the homes.
It doesn’t matter how high your ceilings are.
Your numbers are still going to be the same.
You still have to go play the numbers game.
Right or wrong? Right? And it doesn’t matter because people, the longer we’re here, see, what happens is we tend to do less.
Would you agree? No.
All right.
I know you guys want to go home, all right? But watch, we got to communicate and be receptive.
How do you nurture relationships? Communicate and be receptive.
Sometimes people, the longer you’re here, like, I had a conversation with Keith, and I go, Keith, what do you do on a daily basis? Right? Because now Keith overrides everybody, and he overrides a lot of different people.
And I go, Keith.
You understand that? What should we do in this situation? What should we do in this situation? Right now, I’m a high paid firefighter.
He goes, what I do is it’s not big problems to me because there are no big problems, just what small people and he was saying, he goes, it’s crazy how people don’t plug in.
It’s crazy how people and I go, how can that happen to you? You are a $5 million earner.
See, it doesn’t matter.
It happens to everybody.
Does that make sense? Right? It doesn’t matter who like, I was talking to Carlos.
They come to his house to do an interview.
It’s a multimillion dollar house.
People go to Keith’s house to do interviews.
That’s a 10 million, $15 million home.
And yet people go there, this is so beautiful.
And then they’re not interested.
How the hell does that happen? See, it doesn’t matter what your level is now.
The good thing is you might have some leverage because you now have better skills.
Does that make sense? You could be the end result see? So you got to communicate and be receptive.
Communicate with your people, but you also need to be receptive when somebody communicates with you.
I love the fact that when we sit down with our team, there’s a lot of people every single day we’re in communicating with somebody.
I’ll send text messages.
I just got on telegram.
I have no idea about anything about Telegram, but I just got on Telegram.
And why? Because I want extra means of communication.
And it’s crazy because I really believe that you and I, we’re fair.
We’re fair to everybody.
But sometimes people don’t understand, okay? So watch.
You got to be available.
We’re available to everybody, but not everybody calls.
Does that make sense? And when their business is not where it needs to be, sometimes they become resentful.
See, I know that’s what happens in business.
See, one thing that we need to do is we got to understand we’re playing the numbers game.
And the bigger you get, the more crap you’re going to have to deal with.
However, when you’re dealing with more crap, guess what happens? You don’t look at it that way anymore.
You know why? Because you’re a bigger person.
Does that make sense? And you cannot let the last relationship you just got out of affect your future relationships.
See, when you have a recruit, that hurts you when you got somebody that quits.
See, first of all, you guys are all still in the room, right or wrong? You know how many people were invited to this event that did not show up? And the room is prepared in case people do not show up, because if everybody we invited showed up, this room would be triple the size.
Does that make sense? Right? But we got to over prepare and understand that 75% of people show up.
Now think about this.
You guys are in the room.
You know how many people that showed up to Kalahari didn’t stay the whole event? They didn’t come early, and they’re not going to stay late.
You know how many people are that way? All the guys in the hallway.
Right? Wrong.
But yet, you know what? You know who’s still here? You guys are still here, right? Which means you already eliminated the majority of people that you got to compete against by just remaining in this room.
Right? People go, Man, I want to win so bad.
I want to get so big.
But yet they can’t sit for two days to learn from successful people how to become successful.
Right? I saw somebody outside.
It’s crazy.
I’m just overcoming the objections that could happen, okay? But I saw somebody outside complaining.
Oh, my God.
When’s this are you freaking kidding me, right? I’m looking at the sneakers you’re wearing.
I saw the car you came in.
What the hell? You know what? You stay here.
You don’t have an opinion if you’re broke, right? Okay, watch.
Listen.
You don’t have to be right.
Okay? Watch.
The next point is you don’t have to be right.
You don’t always have to be right, even when you’re right.
And it’s crazy, because sometimes we rather be right than grow our business.
If you’re a leader, sometimes you forgive.
Does that make know? It’s crazy because last year we fought a lot of fires, right? This year is going to be our growth year.
Because I know, like Arnold Schwarzenegger said, what doesn’t kill you makes you.
So last year was a firefight.
This year is a growth year, right? Just after every wildfire, the forest grows more plush.
Why? Because the fires actually open up the seeds, which create more trees.
Don’t go starting fires, okay? So watch.
Another thing is work behind the scenes, right? CEO and I, we’re going to work behind the scenes no matter what, right? We’re going to help people grow their business regardless of what they believe, because it’s the right thing to do.
Does that make sense? We’re going to help people grow their business regardless, and we’re going to work behind the scenes, even though you might think, oh, my God, taking sides and all that stuff, we got to get over that crap, right? If we want to grow our business, we got to take it to the next level.
Does that make sense? It’s not about taking sides, about freaking growing.
You got to be gasoline or water.
See? Am I too tough? No, but watch.
If you want to grow your business, if you want to grow your business, you got to carry a bucket of water, and you got to have a gasoline can, and you got to know which one to pour on.
What? Okay, what I mean by that is if you got a little bit of a spark happening, right, then you take the gasoline out, and then you ignite it.
You put more gas on the fire.
Does that make sense? But if you got a situation where you got to step in there, you got to be water.
You got to have a bucket of water to put crap out.
Does that make sense? So either way, you got to be carrying buckets.
Okay? And what? There it goes.
Okay, let me finish this real quick.
Says, according to research, the average person spends about six months of their life waiting at red lights and another six months searching for misplaced items such as keys and remote controls.
So six months we’re procrastinating, and then six months we’re trying to figure it out.
It says the average RVP run takes about six to nine months once he.
Or she makes a decision.
In the last ten years, the average RVP in Primerica got to RVP in three years and eight months before they got the contract.
So if it takes six to nine months to become an RVP, right, if it really takes six to nine months to run for it, why does it take three years and eight months before the contract.
Why? Because the majority of time before RVP, were trying to spend we’re spending procrastinating and wasting time.
And sometimes it’s a little bit of a learning curve, right, worrying about insignificant things.
So if you want to get to RVP, make a decision today after the event, go run with this thing and get to the next level, right? And last thing I want to cover with you let me take this off.
Roy talked about the Arnold Schwarzenegger documentary, okay? And one of the things I was watching it, there was a scene where Arnold talks about his brother passing away.
And one of the thing he talked about was this was in 1971.
And he goes, his father was always tough.
His mom was tough, right? They grew in Austria, right, during the times of, like, right after World War II.
And it was a tough time.
And he goes, My father always came home drunk.
He was tough.
And it was a crazy environment, right? Somebody talked about environment before, I think Carlos did.
And it was a crazy environment.
And he goes, my brother in 1971, right? He was drinking, drinking, because he became a drunk, okay? And he was drinking, and he crashes and it gets killed.
That’s in 1971.
And what he said was he goes, the thing that made me who I am today, the environment, the thing that made me who I am today, was ultimately the thing that killed my brother, that destroyed my brother.
And the reason he goes, it’s the same environment we grew up in.
We just had two different perceptions.
He goes, he was built different then he talks about his brother and his father dying within a period.
Now, they were a close family after that, right? He goes, My father and my brother died within a couple of years of each other.
And he goes, when my father and brother died, and this was an old footage, it said I had no feelings at all.
And I go, wow.
This guy is the Terminator.
He has no freaking feelings, right? But he goes, I was very close to them.
But he goes, you know what? I eliminated that feeling from my head.
He goes, I’ve been training myself to do that all my life.
And what he said was he goes, not to be affected by anything else from the outside.
He goes, All I can tell you is that when you’re a person that always has a goal, okay? I’m not saying he’s a cold person, okay? He goes, if you’re a person that always has a goal, always has a mission, the less time that you have to think about, how do I feel today? He goes, Am I depressed today? He goes, Do I feel sorry for myself? Right? Have I become a victim? He goes, oh, my God, I feel so bad for myself and all this.
He goes, I don’t have time for that crap.
He goes, A lot of times it’s people that don’t work that have all these feelings.
And I’m not saying be cold because I mean, parents and somebody passing away, that’s a big deal.
But I’m not talking about that.
I’m talking about somebody telling you, no, somebody quitting on you.
Somebody not showing up.
You got to work a little bit harder to make it happen.
See, I’m talking about all that stuff.
But a lot of times, if you’re busy all the time, you don’t have time to think about all the little stuff.
Does that make sense? I know right now that every time I wake up, co turns my alarm on, because she knows if the snooze button she wakes up at, like, four in the morning, right? I wake up at 410.
Okay? But every time it goes off, the snooze button goes off, right? And I will always hit the snooze button.
And she goes, you can’t hit the snooze button over and over again.
But guys, listen.
I know our team right now.
I know our team right now, we’re hitting the snooze button.
But what we need to do is let’s freaking not even use the alarm.
Let’s go freaking to work.
Let’s go freaking move.
We’re giants.
Let’s go freaking go.
Kill it, guys.
All right.
