Video Transcription:
Let’s go ahead and get right into it.
It’s called Peacekeepers versus Peacemakers.
Most people look at those two phrases of peacekeeper, peacemaker.
They sound identical to me.
Look at me for a second.
They’re millions of miles apart.
There’s 180 degree difference between a Peacekeeper and a Peacemaker.
A Peacekeeper will say whatever it takes to keep peace at that moment.
So for example, if you have an 8 year old and they throw a tantrum and say, I hate school, I can’t stand school, I’m never going to school again, I’m not going back.
School is dumb, I’m done.
A Peacekeeper would say, okay, that’s fine, I appreciate that.
You don’t have to go.
Just let’s keep the peace at the moment.
No parent would ever do that.
A peacemaker has no interest whatsoever in short term peace.
It’s always speaking what they need to hear for long term peace.
And Nao has no idea what they’re saying when they say I’m done.
There’s a million mile difference between being a Peacekeeper and a peacemaker.
And your job in people’s lives to be a peacemaker, not a Peacekeeper.
Let’s go.
So first of all, this is not about this whole weekend.
It’s not about us transmitting information and you taking a whole bunch of notes.
It’s about transforming your life.
I want everyone to be expectant for your life to change.
The product of Primerica is not term insurance and mutual funds.
The product of Primerica is change life.
Raise your hand high if you feel like in some way this business has been a blessing in your life and changed your life.
Look around.
That’s our product.
So who do you choose to be in 20, 25 and beyond? A person of interest or a person of impact? A person of interest will always talk topical.
A person of impact will always talk about vision and the future and growth and getting better.
Are you gonna be an interesting person or an interested person? An interesting person always wants to talk about themselves.
Who knows that people don’t give a darn about you until you know how much you care about them.
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
Are you gonna be inward focused or outward focused? I love how people come into this opportunity to start picking things apart, yet they have no solution.
And for every one of them, look em in the eye and say, listen, if you have a better idea to rescue Americans, financially speaking, tell it to us.
We’ll call Glenn Williams.
We’ll Train the entire thing to your ide.
But if you don’t have a better idea, suck it up and let’s run together, let’s solve the problem.
Cause Americans are hurting financially.
Amen.
So what is your belief system? As we approach this time of the year, it’s time to evaluate our belief system.
So when it comes to your belief system, you know, some people say I believe family is super important.
And so many people won’t join you cause they want more time with their family.
Yet every minute they spend with their family, they’re scrolling their phone, they’re taking calls, they’re watching football, they’re getting mad, the news or whatever the heck they’re doing, they’re wasting time.
And now he’s spending quality time.
So don’t just tell me you believe in your family, but when you’re with your family, be with them.
How about I believe in mutual funds? Years ago I met a guy, this is who was in this business in 90s like all of our energy and every appointment was trying to explain people, come on.
What a mutual fund is.
And they’re not going bankrupt, they’re actually going to be around.
Remember that John? Like everyone thought a mutual fund’s going to anyway.
So I remember seeing a guy and he said these words, oh, I love mutual funds.
I totally believe mutual funds.
I read mutual, I read Kiplinger’s, I read Wall Street Journal, I track a whole bunch of investments.
I know about every fund out there, I watch the returns, I love them.
I’m like fantastic.
Which mutual funds do you own? He goes, well I don’t have any.
I just like reading about them and watching them.
Then there’s a guy says I believe in mutual funds.
So let me tell you what I did.
I got a second job, made part time income, put all that money in mutual funds.
I believe in mutual funds so much I had a new car when I learned about mutual funds, I turned in my new car, I got used card, I put that difference in mutual funds.
I believe mutual funds so much I looked around my house and said I don’t need all this stuff.
I had a yard sale, sold a bunch of stuff I don’t need and I took that money I put.
Who believes in mutual funds more? The person who reads about them or the person who changed their life to accommodate them, Right? How about I believe in debt freedom, but Amazon’s coming to your house seven times a day, right? I love my wife with all my heart.
Every day she’s telling me how much money she saves me I’m like, honey, we couldn’t afford not to buy that stuff, right? But thank God we make enough money we can afford that.
But for most people, get debt free, right? How about this? I believe in mpi.
I believe in recruiting, I believe in building massive passive income.
Sounds good.
Where’s the evidence? Where’s the evidence? Are you growing your business? Is it visibly getting bigger? You should be looking at your business on a month to month basis and ask yourself, are we bigger? Are we helping more people? Right.
How about I believe an RVP ASAP is the place to be.
I remember like yesterday I got promoted to regional leader.
I was so darn excited because I was going to training and then it called me to the front of the room and recognized me as a brand new regional leader.
And I was feeling like all that in a bag of chips.
And I remember like yesterday my RVP stood in front of the room and said, I want to recognize Prime America’s newest region leader.
Come on up and receive your negative 25% contract.
Come on up Asafarat.
Back then RVP was a 95.
I just got to 70 and he called it a negative 25% contract.
Anyone here a regional leader below right now? Congratulations.
We want to recognize you for having a negative 60% contract.
Now it’s 110 plus bonuses, plus stocks.
How you feeling about negative 60%? And some of you would like to get to negative 60, right? RVP ASAP is the place to be.
Where’s the evidence you believe in that? There’s only true evidence.
If every aspect of your life is showing evidence that you’re not happy with it, you’re not comfortable with it so you’re double timing it and you look at a man or a woman on a mission from God to get the job done.
How about this? I believe and promoting RVP’s fantastic.
Where’s the evidence? I hope if you speak to anyone on my team behind my back and ask them what’s it like to work with this app, I would hope they would say this about me behind my back.
Oh my gosh, he is so darn annoying.
He won’t shut up about me getting the rvp.
He just all he talks about and I’m so sick of it.
I hope that’s how they would talk about me behind my back.
How are they talking about you? Right, how about I believe in giving.
That’s cute.
Who knows the best thing you can be for the poor is not one of them.
You can’t give what you don’t have.
Anyone ever heard the story of the Great Samaritan before? It sounds good, right? But.
And everyone could do it.
But he had two things most people don’t have.
If he was late for his job, he wouldn’t have stopped to help the guy.
If he didn’t have any money to give the innkeeper, he couldn’t have given the coins.
He had time and money.
You can say, I love to give, but until you develop a life, a business, a lifestyle that provides you time, money and freedom, you can’t truly give what you don’t have.
I believe in Jesus, and I do, and many of us say we do, but where is the evidence, you know? Next page, please.
There’s a story I heard once and changed my life.
And it takes a twist at the end.
It’s called the starfish story.
About this young man goes to a beach and sees a bunch of starfish and starts flinging them in the ocean.
And he sees this other person and the person applauds the young man.
Good for young man.
Way to go.
And he’ll flip over.
He goes, yeah, you just saved another one.
Good for you.
We need to look at that young man and that person who complimented him and said.
And just say, what is wrong with you? Who taught you that? Who taught you that? Incorrect thinking.
What is wrong with you? What that guy should have did.
A kid, if he believed in saving starfish, was gone out to the town and found 10 people and plead with them as quickly as they can find 10 people who each find 10 people within a matter of 30 minutes, bring back hundreds and hundreds of people back to the beach and everyone’s flinging the starfish in and save them all.
Okay, thank God Art Williams was not on a mission to become the number one insurance office in Columbus, Georgia.
Because if he was, that would have been a huge, gigantic goal and people would still have scoffed at him.
But thank God his vision was so much big, and that was to turn every other financial company into a freaking pizza parlor.
Okay, that’s why we’re here.
My question to you is, how big is your vision? Is it big enough to allow others to fit inside theirs? Next page, please.
So there’s a scripture that says these words, and those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
You know what that means when you plant and you reap? Those are at different times.
Peacekeepers say whatever they gotta say to keep peace.
For the moment, peacemakers have no interest in short term peace.
And all about long term peace, right so when it comes to teachers and coaches, remember back when you were in high school or college, maybe it was a teacher, a really bad reputation, being tough, super tough, or a coach that was super tough and that was the teacher or coach you hated the most in the beginning.
But looking back, that’s the one that got the most out of you.
That’s the one that caused the most growth in your life.
That’s the one that bore the most fruit.
And that’s the kind of teacher and coach you wanna be.
I know.
I love being coached by Bill Arunder.
And he’s tough.
He never tells me what I wanna hear and he has no problem telling me what I need to hear.
Amen.
How about Art Williams? He was direct and blunt and in your face.
Especially the way he talked about how big this thing can be, how we’re going to one day dominate financial services in the world.
He said that back when we’re the size, in his words, of a peanut.
And how about.
Jesus, What a vision he had.
Right? So a peacekeeper says.
A peacekeeper says it’s okay if you can’t afford that much life insurance.
One time I was doing a field training appointment and the couple was tight financially like most people are.
And the trainee saw they were uncomfortable and I was quoting coverage because they had three kids and no coverage.
And the trainee blurts out a little speech.
He says, oh my gosh, I see you’re uncomfortable right now.
Don’t worry about it.
If you can’t afford it, that’s okay.
Don’t let it bother you.
We don’t want to cause you any stress or any discomfort, so just don’t worry about it.
Then we walked out of the appointment.
And here’s what I said to that guy.
I said, listen, if either one of them die or get sick, that’s on you to pay every grocery bill for the rest of their lives.
That’s on you to pay for their kid’s college education.
That’s on you to fund the spouse’s retirement.
That’s on you to pay all the utilities, their mortgage.
That’s all on you have no interest in keeping peace when you talk to people and be all about long term peace.
Make sense? How about this? It’s okay if you’re positive.
Anyone ever get a call from someone? Cancel our life insurance.
We can’t afford anymore.
But not cable tv, baby, we need that one.
Right? Okay.
And you get calls like that.
And when it happens, your job is not to be a peacekeeper, but a peacemaker.
Way more into the long term say, you know, John May, I appreciate that, but did you know that every single study ever done by financial experts says that there’s only one bill in your household you can afford to pay? Make sure it’s your life insurance.
Anything else goes wrong, you’ll figure it out.
But you can’t figure out that one.
How about this? It’s okay if you can’t afford to invest.
No, no.
I say one of the five most important decisions we’ll make in our lives is to draw a line in the sand and decide to put to death all our options and never, ever allow a month to go by ever again without saving and investing something for our future.
Look people in the eye.
Say, if your cell phone bill came in 25 bucks higher, are you canceling your cell phone? No.
You’re going to find that 25 bucks, that’s the minimum size of investments.
Everybody should be saving something every month.
It’s one of the best decisions out there, right? It’s okay if you stop your pac, stop anyone ever get a call from someone, Things are tight.
I stop it.
No, if we got to reduce it temporarily, we will, but either come work with me or.
Or go work somewhere else.
But let’s figure out long term peace, not short term peace.
How about it’s okay if you don’t have time to work with me.
I know you’re busy and have lots of stuff to do.
We look at people all the time and you know what the numbers.
Most people have a shortfall of 2 to 4,000 hours a month to get to the goals they need to get to of retirement.
Educating their kids, paying off their debt.
And it’s our job to be a peacemaker, not a peacekeeper.
It’s not your job to say, don’t worry about it.
I know, it’s okay.
Everyone’s going through struggles.
It’s our job to look in the eye and say, God worked five days, six days and took one day off.
You’re working five days and taking two days off.
How’s that working out for you? Okay, it’s time to go to work.
Come with us.
Make an extra thousand bucks a week.
Let’s fix this problem, right? How about this? It’s okay if you don’t have time to study for your licenses.
How many people have you recruited? And it’s been like what, a week, a month, a year, a decade? I’ve recruited people three or four times last 25 years.
And they make donations to us and never get licensed.
Anybody never done that before? It’s time to be real with people.
The truth is, if you’re in high school or college and there’s a test coming up and you’re not ready, can you say to the teacher, sorry, I’m not ready.
Can we push it back a little bit? What’s the teacher gonna say? No? What are you supposed to do? And the answer is, you sleep less.
You sleep less.
That’s what you do.
Teach high school kids, college kids, both.
Pull an all nighter, sleep less and get it done.
Don’t you ever get a full night’s sleep until it’s done.
And in closing, I wanna wrap up with a story.
If you had to place a bet and the wager was high, it’s every dime you’ll ever make again for the rest of your life.
This is the and you had to place the bet because of the gun in your head.
This is the only information you were ever given on who to bet on.
One team, world’s greatest coach and a bunch of below average players.
Talented players, other team, below average coach and super talented players.
I don’t know about you, but every day of the week and twice on Sunday, I’m putting all my chips on the team with the world’s greatest coach.
You are coaches.
Okay? Art Williams called you coaches.
Coaches coach people to success.
Coaches tell people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.
And way more interested in long term peace than short term peace.
God bless you.
Thank you so much.
