Video Summary
Yvonne Ortiz delivers a powerful message about impact, purpose, and responsibility. She reflects on the defining moment that pushed her to fully commit when she saw her children sleeping on suitcases in a small apartment after leaving the military. That emotional moment gave her a reason strong enough to change. She emphasizes that success begins when you decide to be an asset instead of baggage and show up consistently to learn, grow, and contribute. Over 33 years, she has seen firsthand how families depend on the work being done, especially when delivering death claims that provide financial relief during tragedy. She reminds the audience that when leaders fail to grow or show up, families are left unprotected. She highlights stories of perseverance, including a teammate who passed her licensing process to support her family and another who took the life exam 11 times before succeeding because of the environment and self improvement. Her message is clear: your work is bigger than you, your growth inspires others, and long term commitment creates generational impact.

Where’s my aviators? Come on. Aviators. You guys are the reason Ed and I still get up. My family still get up every morning, because I know we have so much to give you guys and so much to see in you guys, too. So thank you for everything that you do. You know, guys, that I celebrate this team and I celebrate you guys, aviators. I celebrate my family. And the reason I do that, guys, is because I never, ever forget where I come from. I don’t. But I thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ every single day for the things that he has allowed in our lives so that we can be where we are right now. You know that Ed and I. Ed found Primerica. Nobody prospect him. He just one day walked into a Primerica office.
And I am so thankful that on that day, everything was perfect in his mind for him to see the opportunity that was being presented to him and what that could mean to our family, because I didn’t have that kind of vision, but he did. And I remember, you know, one of the things that Bill talked about is he said that transitions. He talked about that, and he said why people don’t change. And the reason. One of the reasons people don’t change, he said, is because they don’t have something important enough in their life that promotes that change. Right. You know that this is as. As insignificant as this sounds to me. That defining moment came when Ed came into the house, and he was talking about this newfound Primerica opportunity. And I looked around.
We were living in a very small apartment, and at that time, our furniture and everything was still in storage because we had just left the military, and Jason and Eric were sleeping in suitcases. Now, to them, that was, like, the highlight of the day, that they get to sleep in a suitcase. Right? But to me, here comes Ted talking about this amazing opportunity and what it can do to our family. And I looked around, and I’m looking at my sons sleeping on the floor in a suitcase. And that was so strong to me, guys, that minute I made a decision that I’m gonna show up and I’m gonna be a player and I’m not gonna be an expectator.
I said, from that moment on, this is the time that I’m gonna be an asset to my family, and I’m not gonna be just baggage that it has to carry around. That’s the moment, guys, that I decided I’m gonna show up to everything. Whether I want it or not, I’m gonna show up and I’m gonna learn because I want to contribute to the family. I told Ed, I want you to count on me that I’m gonna do my part in everything that is needed in here. Everything. You know, guys, after 33 years, now that we’re in our 33rd year, I realized people need help. And when we don’t do our part and we don’t get better and we don’t show up, guys, we are leaving all these people hanging.
You know that in the last month or so, I have deliver like five death claims, People that never thought they were gonna die. But one day Ed and I showed up to their door and told them how important it is to plan for their future, whether you’re here or not. And they listened to us. And on the day that it did happen, were able to go back and deliver. Because this company delivers for families, guys, and you gotta be proud of that. I want to make sure, guys, you understand that when you come in here, you’re going to get to a place.
If you do what you’re supposed to do, if you get better, if you get licensed, if you learn from your uplines, if you’re coachable, if you praise your uplines all the time and thank them for everything that they’ve given you’re going to inspire some people. You know that just in the last couple of days, two people, I can mention a million, but there’s two people that have totally inspired me and one is Cassie. Cassie’s here and I am so glad that I got to meet her. A couple of days ago, she got her license, she got licensed, fully licensed, just because her husband couldn’t get the license. That was pretty much it. And she needed to do that, right?
And she told me the story that because of the process of doing that, she learned so much about Primerica, that when times have gotten tough and if you got to find her and meet her and talk to her when things have gotten tough, because of what she learned in here, she has been able to deliver for her family too. That inspires me to get up every day and do some great things. And then we have a young man in our hierarchy, his name is Brian. He has taken the life insurance. Oh, he took it 11 times. How many times do you have to go through adversity before you throw the, what do you call it, a towel there, right? He took it 11 times. And I asked him, I said, what kept you going? Why did you quit like so many people do?
And he because of the environment and the team. But because I self improved and I never thought about what I was not getting. I always thought about what I’m going to get the day I pass that test. That inspires the daylights out of me. And that’s why we’re here, and that’s why we’re gonna deliver. My family loves you. We’re gonna be here for a long time. God bless you. Let’s just hear it now from the great Brittany. Ooh.
