So things are crushing. Listen, the business is unbelievable that we’re in. I was talking to some of my good friends Carlos and stuff. We’re talking about some people are getting ready to retire with Social Security. It’s like 4,000amonth. I’m like. It’s kind of funny because we have residual income that continues to come and it continues to grow and stuff like that. But I want to give you some things you could write down and take with you. Okay, I’m going to talk about the five things you tell yourself every morning. You should tell yourself these things every morning. And we used to go to a lot of seminars because there wasn’t any pol in the beginning and they didn’t have, you know, zoom meetings and stuff. So went to. We saw Tom Hopkins eight or nine times. This guy Frank Bilella was another guy.
Frank Bilella. I remember when I saw Frank Bilella, we talked about do your daily affirmations. I’m like, what do I write down? I just had no idea what to write every morning. And I was kind of. And I tried to fumble through that. I couldn’t really figure out. Write an affirmation out. And self improvement became a big part of our life. And suddenly I came across this. These from Jim Rohn years ago. Jim Rohn’s a pretty famous motivational speaker and stuff. So these are the five things you tell yourself in the morning. Listen, your mind is open in the morning more than any other time during the day. And what you put in it is really is going to set the tone for the day.
And a lot of times, you know, if you get up in the morning, you get out of bed and you stub your toe, that could send your day into a spiral. Next thing you know, you spilled the coffee, you got a traffic ticket. Everything goes bad that day because you allowed it to get into your mind that way. So how do you start your day? Every day, your mind will grow the seeds that you put in it. All right, so number one, this is the first thing you should say every day. I have a clicker and everything. Did it click? There you go. Today I choose to be positive. Choose to be positive. Positive doesn’t happen. It’s a choice. You can have good things happen, bad things happen, circumstances change. But you have to decide to have a positive outlook on everything that happens.
When. If it’s a challenge, maybe you’re going to figure out how to overcome that challenge. You’ll learn something new. You’ll stretch your vision a little bit. But a lot of times you Wake up in the morning, you have to make that decision to be positive. Happiness is a decision, too. You can’t just say, if you want to be happy, you decide to be happy. If you want to be positive, you decide to be positive. And no one controls that but you. And it’s not your circumstances. It’s like you don’t know what I’m dealing with. Yeah, but people deal with much worse stuff than you and get up every day with a positive attitude. And that’s gonna help them overcome that. Okay? The second thing is be grateful for all that you have. Make a list every day if you want.
Talk about the things you’re most grateful for. Cause gratitude is one of the best feelings and emotions you could generate in your body. You know, they talk about in the book the Secret. You know, you vibrate at different levels. Different emotions make you vibrate at different levels. And. And the highest vibrations you can get is love and gratitude. And that brings. That attracts more love and gratitude into your life. The worst things are like envy, jealousy, things like that on the bottom, that attracts negative things into your life. So you want to vibrate at a higher level. Gratitude. The more you’re grateful for, the more things that will appear for you to be grateful for and your life will get better. Right? These are the kind of things. Now, some of you are writing this down. Okay, I’m going to.
If you do this every single day, if you say these five things for the next year, every day, your life will absolutely be different. The third thing is I am capable of achieving great things. This, I think, is one of the most important ones, because were taught this growing up from Joensa. Making money here is easy. Believing you can make money here is the hard part. And he spent all his time training all the leaders in the front row. He spent our time on how we thought. And it was never about the specifics of the business. How to do a presentation, how you close business, how a product works. He constantly worked on how we thought. Because the number one reason people don’t succeed is what they think they see when they look in the mirror. Like Tamari said, who are you?
Who do you see? Who do you believe you are? And you have to understand you’re capable of doing unbelievable things. Great things have been done by mere mortals throughout history. We look at people that have done great accomplishments. There’s nothing super special about them except they had a little bit of belief in themselves. They. They didn’t let the world beat them up. They woke up every day, says, I Am capable of doing great things, and I’ll do great things today. Number four, I embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. The only growth you’ll ever have is outside your comfort zone. The only growth develop you have is when crap hits the fan, when things don’t do good, when you have to adapt, you have to change, you have to learn, you have to modify, you have to get better. Those are the things that happen.
Every. Every single obstacle is an now. If you look at an obstacle as a dead end, you’re not going to really go too far because I don’t care who you are or how much success you’ve had here. There’s been times when everything in this business has not gone right for you, where your best guy quit and you got those chargebacks right there and things. You didn’t get recognized when you’re supposed to get recognized, or you just, you screwed up somehow and you look in the mirror say, I don’t know if I can do this. But some people look at this and say, all right, I made an adjustment. I realized why I didn’t win. I got to learn something better, and I’m going to grow from this. The fifth thing is I take action towards my goals every day. Every day.
This is about consistency. It doesn’t have to be huge action, Just have to be some movement in the right direction. There has to be progress. It has to be progressive. So what are your goals? Listen, your goal right now may be to get licensed. Maybe it’s to get to be a senior rep, maybe to get your securities license. Maybe it’s to make 50,000 a year or 100,000. Your second diamond. The ultimate goal here that you need to do is get to regional vice presidents and promote regional vice presidents who promote regional vice presidents. That’s why you’re here, period. Yeah, you could go make a bunch of money if you want. But what have you built? You want to build something that will pay you passive residual income. P R I. Is that why they didn’t even stock that passive residual income? That’s what happened.
Take action towards your goal every day. Listen, there was an Indian chief and he was talking to his grandson. Give him life lessons. And he says, you know, son, grandson, in every man and woman, there’s a battle that goes on. There’s a good wolf and there’s a bad wolf, and they fight all the time, every day. And the grandson says, well, grandpa, who wins that fight? He says, it’s the one that you feed. See, your mind is like a garden. If you plant positive Thoughts. If you plant great goals, if you plant visions of what you want to do in the future, that will grow out of your mind. If you plant self doubt, negativity, hatred, jealousy, things like that will grow in your mind too. And you’ll create either a garden of beautiful flowers or garden full of weeds. Okay?
And I just want to tell a little story. How much time do I. I have two, three minutes. Three minutes, perfect. So I go to. I go to New York Knick game. Did they win the other night? The Knicks? Yeah. I’m just messing with you. So I go to the Knick game. I’m in the Franklin Templeton suite with some other people that do business with Franklin Temple from other companies. So I’m sitting in the suite. This guy next to me turns to me, he goes, hey, so where you from? So I’m a little white. I go, oh, my mom. But that was a long time ago. He goes, ha ha ha ha. He goes, no, who do you work for? I go, I work for Primerica. I go, who do you work for? He goes, ameriprise. He said ameriprise on the inside.
I turned it to Bruce Lee. I want to take that guy out right there. So I go, oh, that’s nice. He goes, where’s your office? I go, I’m on Route 110 in Farmingdale. He goes, oh, I’m on Route 110 in Melville. It’s like, right mile away. He goes, I guess some guys from our company have tried to recruit you already. So he’s like, feeling me out if I was recruitable. I go, you know, it’s just kind of hard because I have like 500 licensed agents with me, and it’s hard to move everybody all at once. And he went, like, five. Because they work like two or three guys and a lot, you know. 500 Go, oh, you must have got in at the right time. Actually, right now is the right time. He goes, really? I said, do you guys have ownership?
You know, I get to own my business, which is kind of cool. He goes, well, yeah, we have a level. I’m not at that level yet, but when I get to a level, then I could start owning things like that. We have, like a hybrid. You see, I can see, you know, when someone’s bullshitting it’s like a little bead of sweat comes down this thing right here. That’s what I have coming on. And so I try to watch the game. And so I’m listening to him, and he’s trying to explain things. He realizes that he sounded kind of stupid. He goes, I have, like, 100 clients. I felt like going, oh, that’s cute. You have 100 clients. But in 10 seconds, it just reinforced what incredible opportunity we have where you can build a business that continues to pay you.
He has no chance of doing that there. They don’t do the right thing for clients all the time. They charge $1,000 or $1,500 to do a financial plan that we do a better one for free, and they think that they’re really good at who they are. But once they have a five, the guy probably walked away and wondered why I didn’t recruit him. I didn’t recruit him. You know why? Because I didn’t like them. All right, guys, listen, have a wonderful day. Thanks for your time. Appreciate you all.
