Good afternoon.
Good morning.
Good morning, Good morning.
First of all, I want to thank Keith and Danielle for your leadership.
I don’t do that enough.
Thank you for all you do.
And I really value our friendship.
Willie, thanks for expanding our vision today.
The people in the front room, my brothers and sisters, great to see you.
Always a pleasure, truly a family.
And one day to people in back, you understand what we’re talking about.
We go back 30 years.
Vacations, kids growing up, parties, accomplishments, something special.
I want to thank the crusader hierarchy back there, the RVPs and the bay shop.
You guys are awesome.
Roy, thanks for saying nice stuff about me and Mike.
We’re going to have to talk about a prenup.
All right, all right.
Good, good.
So I want to talk about.
I’m not sure what I’m going to talk about.
Hold on.
Warning.
Stop being the same person, expecting a different result.
Stop it.
You come here, you’re excited.
I’m gonna make a million dollars here.
You go back, you’re the same person.
You can’t win.
You can’t keep doing the same things over and over again expecting a different result.
Listen, you need to self improve.
Everyone says that.
You heard almost every speaker mention that in their talk.
But how do you do that? A new person you might say, how do I self improve? How do I get better? What do I need to do? See, self improvement says the improvement of one’s knowledge, status and character by one’s own efforts.
That’s for all the people who say, my RVP didn’t make me an RVP yet.
It’s not for someone else to build your self improvement.
That’s why it’s called self.
It’s going to take a little bit of effort on your part to make sure that happens.
Okay? Now Primerica is an amazing self improvement system with an incredible back end compensation program.
You come here, you get better, they pay you more, you get a little bit better, they pay you more, you get as better as you want and they pay you better as you want.
Now the leaders you see on stage are those that have self improved.
I was just talking with Mike Presage how Roy has become such a great speaker over the last 10 years.
He’s just really gotten better than that.
But they’re not the same person.
When they joined, they come a long way.
You look at the people here, you think they were born this way? No, they were just like you sit in the back.
Not sure they could do this.
I got to figure this out.
Okay, so here’s a couple of pictures of what we look like back in the day, I don’t ever see.
That’s Ray and Carol, Roy and Ann.
I knew Roy when he had hair.
He knew me when I was thin.
Go way back.
Julio Soto Cohen.
This is us with Joe and Kim Enso.
Look at that.
Remember that picture we had? Governor Christy Whitman’s house.
This Tony and Shelley and just the crowd.
We were there.
We did so many things.
This is 20.
This is almost 28, 29 years ago.
This is on the left is Glenn Lee.
He was a district leader.
He said, can I take a picture with you? Because I was an RVP at the time.
I said, sure.
He makes twice what I make means.
He self improved twice as much as I did.
Keith on the right hand side.
We just climbed Diamond Head in Hawaii, believe it or not.
We climbed to the top of the volcano together.
And then two seconds later, we’re on oxygen.
I don’t know if you can see that, but look at Ray, man.
This is.
This is Ray and me in Sausalito.
I don’t know why were in Sausalito.
I just like saying Sausalito.
But were older in this picture than our kids are in here.
I got my two boys here, Joe and Steve.
What’s up, guys? So proud.
You in the back there.
But we’re older than our kids are today.
I mean, were younger than our kids are today in this photo.
Okay, that.
That’s my first leadership school with Bob Saffron.
I just got my senior rep and district leader promotion.
That was.
I was excited.
I had to ban down and everything.
Look on the right.
Would you invest any money with those two guys? Come on.
I wouldn’t give him a dollar.
And I threw this in too because it’s a picture of Dominique when she was a baby.
And we all grew up, we raised families here.
I went to her first birthday party dressed as Fred Flintstone.
Hey, Joe.
Joe, did you doctor these? Because I look fat in those pictures.
I can’t believe my wife was sleeping with that chubby.
There was some fat guys.
It’s crazy.
There were some fatter ones and I cut those out, just so you know, because I love you, bro.
First of all, this is bullshit.
He just showed that because he used to be skinnier than me.
Just sorry.
That’s true.
That’s skinny days.
All right, so look, if you want things to change, you have to change.
If you want things to get better, you have to get better.
It’s just the way it is.
Right? So what do you got to do.
Set some goals.
Now, you guys should know this, right? Have a clear, concise mental picture of that, what you want to achieve.
Have a timeframe to get it done.
A deadline.
Have a strategy, a game plan in order to do it, what you’re willing to trade off.
There’s going to be some sacrifices in your life.
Write it down and read it twice daily.
Okay? Now everyone should always take a picture.
I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this, but what kind of goals do you set? People go, what kind of goals? Well, maybe you set daily goals of inviting two people and scheduling two kitchen table appointments.
Maybe you got weekly goals of writing a Life app, an IBA and two Life apps.
Maybe your monthly goals are doing four IBAs by eight Life apps, right? That’s kind of like the standard now.
And maybe yearly, I don’t know, maybe 12 new direct districts, maybe $100,000 ring for the first time.
Maybe jumping two or three diamonds.
Figure it out, but have some.
You can’t be like Charlie Brown who throws the dart at the fence and then draws the target where it lands.
Doesn’t work that way.
You got to pick it first.
Okay? And by the way, readers of leaders, if you read 10 pages every morning, 10 pages at night, you read a couple of books a month.
That’s all it takes.
Do it.
Start it.
Start with easy books.
Here’s a list.
Take a picture.
These are some of my favorite.
I’ve read over 500 books.
I got a library at home.
Books.
I never read self improvement books till I came here, but then I devoured them.
I went to seminars.
Look, Tom Hopkins.
Oh, you want me to go back? All right, take a picture fast.
All right, good.
So Tom Hopkins.
I went to seven of his seminars.
Seven overnight, couple of hundred bucks went.
A bunch of us went.
I knew him so well.
We had dinner together.
Look at the past.
Tom Hopkins, right? Look at the smile on his face.
I don’t know where my right hand is, but look at the smile on his face.
Tom was a very nice guy then.
John Maxwell, he’s one of the leading authors on leadership.
Everything you can.
I heard that Bob Safford had him at his office for meeting with some select people.
I got into the meeting, I drove four hours for a two hour meeting four hours back.
There was no zoom back then.
And that’s the great Bob Savage, John Maxwell myself, in front of the $2 million doors that Bob Savage had going to his library.
It’s another story.
But what are you listening and watching to check it out.
Turn off Netflix.
Get off of social media.
If you get together with your friends, they tell you all the top TV shows and movies you missed.
People tell me, did you ever watch this? I never heard it.
You never heard.
You never.
Yellowstone.
I never saw Yellowstone.
You ever did this? I never saw that.
I got a life to live, right? So get off of that.
What do you got to get on? Get on pol.
Get on PFS media.
My man Jason right there.
Get on SoundCloud.
Listen, learn, get better.
I love when Blake Idle came up here and said, I watched David Kim’s presentation a hundred times.
He said, he also told me he watched a bunch of other presentations online.
He went from office to office.
He knew he had to get better.
So he self improved.
And you gotta do affirmations.
I remember we used to do seminars with a guy named Frank Bolello, and he said, you gotta come up with an affirmation.
I’m like, an affirmation.
An affirmation is what you say to yourself.
Scripting is if you write it out.
Visualization is if you close your eyes and imagine it really happening.
So I didn’t know what to say.
I said, how can he hit the perfect one? And the reality is, don’t worry about having the right one.
Just start saying something.
It’ll come to.
It’ll come.
It makes sense after a few days.
Watch.
Example.
I’m a winner, a champion, a leader.
I’m a master recruiter.
I speak to everyone I come in contact with.
Everyone.
Say that with me.
You ready? I’m a winner, a champion, a leader.
I’m a master recruiter.
I speak to everyone I come in contact with and stay consistent.
If you improve 1% every day, you’ll improve 365% a year.
And if you want things to get better, you can get better.
And I want to finish up with this story.
Two lumberjacks are in the woods, Tom and Jerry.
Jerry always cuts more wood down than Tom.
And Tom is pissed.
He goes, how is it possible? At the end of the day, he always has a bigger pile.
So Tom one day says, today I’m going to beat him.
I’m not going to take any breaks.
I’m going to eat lunch, stand it up.
And that’s what he does.
He starts swinging that axe as fast as he can.
And he notices.
Every hour, Jerry sits down and takes a break for five minutes.
And he goes, oh, I got him today.
I’m not taking a break.
And at lunchtime, he.
He just gobbles something while he’s standing there, and the other guy just sits down and puts a blanket down and rests for a half hour.
And he keeps swinging.
Tom keeps swinging the axe at the end of the day.
And at the end of the day, he’s like, I got him.
And he looks at the pile, and the other pile is bigger than his.
He goes and goes, how is it possible? How can I work so much harder? You took breaks.
You took a lunch.
I didn’t stop one bit.
But your pile’s bigger than mine.
How is it possible? He goes, what you didn’t realize is that every hour when I took a break, I took the time to sharpen my ax.
So I went back to work.
I was more productive.
And that’s what’s happening today.
Let me tell you what’s happening to Keith Otto right now.
No one in this room is writing a Life app today.
No one’s hiring somebody.
No one’s submitting a trade.
But that’s okay, because we’re sharpening our ax and getting better.
Because when we go back next week, we’re going to kick some serious butt and make some things happen.
So listen, no matter who you are, no matter what you did, no matter where you come them, you can always change.
You can always become better version of yourself.
Let’s go win, and let’s kick some butt.
I’ll see you guys at the top.
