If you want to win, you must stay on the scoreboard — no game exists without one.
Until you build a team, you are the team — lead with personal production first.
Recruiting, premium, and licensing drive your high score.
Create constant activity: funerals, churches, community visibility.
Never leave the game early — champions finish strong.
Video Summary
A Product Of The System
Teshler Senat opens by expressing gratitude for the leadership school that shaped him. He reflects on starting as a district leader and watching the organization grow into something massive.
His message is clear:
This system works — if you work it.
He credits his partner Gerda as the operational backbone of the business while he stays active in the field and expansion.
There Is No Game Without A Scoreboard
In every sport, there is a scoreboard.
Business is no different.
He challenges the audience:
Have you ever seen your name on the board?
Have you ever shown up as a top builder?
If you are not on the scoreboard, you are not really competing.
Until You Have A Team, You Are The Team
One of his strongest points:
Until you build a real team, you are the team.
Too many people wait for someone else to produce. Leaders score first.
He explains:
Nobody becomes an NSD writing only personal premium.
But leaders must score first to set the tone.
If someone must go 10 for 10, it should be you.
When the top player scores early, the team’s confidence rises.
Recruit Premium Develop People
The formula is simple and never changes:
Recruit
Write premium
Develop people
He breaks down the scoring system:
1,000 points per recruit
1,000 points per life sale
30,000 points per licensed rep
If you want a high score, do more of those activities.
It is not complicated — it is consistent execution.
You Don’t Go Home Because You’re Tired
He shares a story of closing $5,000 in premium, driving home, then turning around to close another client late at night.
Why?
Because scoring matters.
You do not go home because you are tired.
You go home because the job is done.
High scorers cannot sleep comfortably knowing they left points on the table.
Create Activity When Things Slow Down
When production slows, he increases activity creatively.
His unconventional prospecting strategies include:
Attending funerals with targeted messaging
Visiting multiple churches every Sunday
Building relationships with pastors
Teaching financial literacy workshops
Leveraging strong community trust
His philosophy:
Always have activity.
No activity equals no score.
Builder First Mentality
Some see him as a personal premium guy.
He rejects that label.
He is a builder — but refuses to allow his organization to depend on one producer.
Leaders must remain credible through production.
Production protects your authority.
The Miami Heat Lesson
He references the 2013 NBA Finals where fans left early in Game 6 before the comeback by the Miami Heat.
With seconds left, fans walked out.
Moments later, the game changed.
Those who left missed history.
His point:
Some people will quit on you in the final quarter.
Do not leave early.
Do not quit when it looks difficult.
Champions stay until the buzzer.
If They Quit, Keep Scoring
He acknowledges:
Some teammates will leave.
Some will quit at the worst time.
But winners keep playing.
In business and in sports:
You cannot re-enter the game once you walk out.
Stay in.
Finish strong.
Go for your high score.

All right. How you all doing? You guys good? You guys good there? All right. I lost my voice screaming in the back, but I give this in my very best. I’m so excited to be here, but more excited to be a product of this school. And I know we’ve done so much about David, about his wife, about his daughter, but I remember those days where a guy like me came to this school as a district leader. District Razi was not even in the game and all those big guys that we have right now was not in the game. And to see what we get to build is amazing. One more time, please give it up for David and his family. I want to take this opportunity one more time to thank my partner, Ms. Gurna, in the back. She’s there.
She’s the backbone of the business. As you guys know me, I travel. I never spent week in one spot. I always be around there looking for ways to get things done. She’s the one at the main office get things done. So I appreciate Ms. Gerda. She’s a beautiful women inside and out. So we want to make sure Koshamo said, if I am where I’m at today, this is because of Gerda, right. So all the credit goes to Gerda. Right. Also my team, my hockey, we have a giant organization. Rezzy is just amazing. I mean, Rezzi is not the only one that I have, but I always tell people if I had like ten ways like this, I’m probably willing. Aha. Is that right? So it’s always a pleasure to be among some great people.
Of course, my coaches, coach Sean and his wife, coach John Lavin, always look for ways to get things done for us. We really appreciate it. I try my best here. I was asked to speak about going for your high score. Going for your high score. Obviously, this is an easy topic for me because when I came to the business early on, Koshamo taught me how to mean. The first part of my conversation will be about competing and I think Palmer, they make sure they have a scoreboard. If you guys, you know, familiar with any games, you will understand there will be no game without a scoreboard. Now, when you look at the scoreboard, where do you see yourself? Have you ever seen yourself? Have you ever showed up on that builder’s board? Have you ever been there? Guys?
From day one, the day I came here, Koshamo taught me. He said, man, boy, you have to stay in the game. You have to make sure you build this thing, you work hard, just like you had a team, because until you have a team, you are the team. Some of you don’t hear what I’m saying. Until you build a will team, you are the team. And the main reason most people don’t join your business is because they don’t like your lifestyle. They don’t like the car you’re driving, they don’t like the neighborhood you live in. In fact, they have a stupid job, they’re driving a better car, they live in a better neighborhood. So it’s just like you have nothing to show for. And it can be like this for a year or two or three. But if it’s 3456 years, there’s a problem.
Just like myself, I don’t mind going to a church where I am the third person at that church. It’s no big deal. It’s no problem. I can’t be there. It’s no big deal. But when I asked you said you’ve been a pastor for 1525 years and you have ten people showed up, there’s a problem. It’s the same thing here in Primerica. So I will give you guys a few idea, a few things that I do myself to get this thing going. So, as you guys know, you have to keep recruiting as your main focus. If you need to score, as you guys know, for each recruit, you get 1000 points. For each life sale, you get 1000 points. Every time you get somebody licensed, you get 30,000 points.
So if you need to keep the score really high, what you need to do, you need to go do those things. Recruit, filtering, develop people. Everybody here knows this. Even if you’re here for the first day, you already know it about recruit premium, develop people. Now let me tell you what people don’t tell you here, and this is my Primerica deal myself. Now, if you ask me how do It, how do I build it, I’ll tell you, some people will see me. That’s the personal premium guy. I’m not. I’m a builder. Nobody become NSD writing personal premium. You guys get that. So I’m not. But I refuse to let one single guy comes and control my business. If somebody has to score, I have to be the one scoring first. Don’t you see?
When they do free cake in final or wherever it is, Razor can tell you better. They have the best guy shoot first. Because if he missed it, the model, like everybody’s mindset is down, we’ll be down. It’s a mental game. So if somebody has to go to 1010, guess who they are supposed to be? Me. So I don’t see how people will wake up one day. They put their suit on, they put their best dress on, and then decide to hit the street. They tell their wife, they tell their children, I am going to work, daddy, going to work. And you go out there, you get nothing done for the day. In your business, it’s like you tell your wife, I go to my gob, J-O-B. And then you didn’t show up for work. You made no money for the day.
That’s something that happened. So every single day, I make sure somebody said, you don’t go home because you’re tired. You go home because the job is being done. So every single day, I am in the field seeing client closing business. And I can tell you, even if I am going home at midnight, I tell you one day what happened? Went to the field. I was in Orlando. Went to the field, do my know, put numbers and stuff like that. I already closed five grand for the night, for the day, five grand. And when you close, nothing else matters. If you like me, that’s me. Nothing else matters. I mean, that’s my best night when I get paid. I drove from Kissimmee to the office to my house in Mitchell west back then, about an hour.
And then I went to see that lady in Davenport, and she said, tesla, I just finally got home. She was now finally got home, and my husband. We ready. I was at the gate to get home. Lady say, I’m ready. You turn kissing me uturn because I got to score. You can see me. So time is going fast. Let me tell you what I do when you have the desire to score, you can’t sleep. And I tell people, I sleep, eat, primer. I know nothing else. I don’t know how people get comfortable. They put their head against that pillow, knowing that they should have done something for the day and didn’t do it. I don’t know. Even as a young boy, if I’m doing something, I’m not done. I’m not going to eat, guys, the desire to score. So I mean myself.
I tell you a few things. I do. Time is flying. I tell you, when I don’t have much going on, I do all the good stuff. We could filter, develop, but I need to show up for leadership. Guess what? I wake up every single Saturday. I look for funerals. Tesla will go to every single funeral in the city. And I have a special business card that I make in Creole, explaining, if you dropped dead yesterday, what happened to your family. People get scared. Everybody called me. In fact, I met Sister Garon in a funeral before I could hear her. On Sunday, I visit at least three churches. Every single Sunday. Three different churches.
I go to my first church at 06:00, very early, by six, if you push too long, I’m out because I have an assignment and I go visit every single church in the city. I go, I give you a tie. I put my company name on that check, selling associates. I make sure I give a nice check. And guess what? At the end of, I mean, at the afternoon, I call and ask to speak to the treasurer, to the guy who count the money. I give a check. Did you receive it? Yes. Well, I would love to have a pastor. How is that possible? Yes, sir. I make it happen. I get my money. Guess what, Saddam with the pastor. Pastor, for respect I have for you, before I go to the congregation, I want to make sure I talk to you.
I show you what I do. If you love it, you let me speak to your people. Does that make sense? Yes. Sit down with a pastor, see who we are, what we do, how we do it. Die too soon, live too long, and I make sure the pastor knows. I teach the people how to tight the 10%, but what to do with the order. Always have activities. Always have activities. I Teach works, how money works. I have my alternative base, shop, which is my clientele base. You have two bay shop, the new that go to school, get licensed. But trust me, we come across a bush of people who can’t be licensed. And these are your clientele. Bays, listen, this is the most trustworthy people you can ever dealt with. They will save you every time. Hey, Mary, what’s up? I’m here. What’s up?
What’s going on? Listen, today is the last day for me to get that promotion. I need five clients right now. Hold on, I’ll call you right back. Call me with five people. Just write them up. Jordan closed the same night. That’s good for you, my friend, but I close every night. Every time. And we still have good QBI, so I love Joard, but that ain’t work for our community. In the haitian market, you miss it. The first time you miss it. That’s it. Miss it. You missed it. All right, so listen, I had a little video for you, but I’m not going to pray. There’s no time. Listen, if you just came from Haiti, you guys can say Cuba or one of the Colombia, but most haitian and you and me up, you are in town. Guess what I said. What’s the address?
Hold on. I’m coming right now. Guess what? The guy doesn’t have paper. I cannot do this with him. But he lives at somebody’s home. He just visited his broke uncle who’ve been here since 1977 with no insurance. He has a mortgage. Listen, I will make sure I introduce, I show up really nice with my nice car, smell good like you can’t believe it. And next thing I say, I can help. What do you guys do? Who do you have your life insurance with? I go straight to the point. Who cares, man? I’m on a mission. I need to score. Is that right? But let me tell you, no matter how hard you want to score, come back to video. Video for me. Some people will quit on you. Devil. I need two minutes. Some people will quit on you. Probably at the wrong time.
You guys know right now, this is the last quarter of the game. We’re all pushing to win. We have a goal, to heat my video. At the end of the day, some people will create. And that was what happened in June 19. Wes Joe was just came to the business. But look at this story.
28 seconds left. The Heat down by five behind spurs guard Manuja Nobili. You can see them fans bailing, some filing out past a stone faced Pat Riley.
I started seeing all these people leave when we have about 30 seconds left, and I was like, you can’t walk out on the heap.
But they did. And guess what?
Game six. They want back in for this, just went into overtime and everyone is trying to get back in. Let us in. We have our tickets. There’s history in the making. A couple of seconds left and we thought, we’re going to lose. All of a sudden we see people run back to the stadium.
You can see them running back to the arena, but no reentry shutout. Watching those final golden moments on a monitor, through a glass door. Hardcore fans venting on sports radio, all.
Those Heat haters out there that thought it was all over 30 seconds before the game was over. Well, here’s a surprise for you, baby. Miami’s back in it.
But it did reinforce the stereotype that we have in Miami of short attention span. We like the sparkly things. We’re bandwagon. And I think this team deserved more than what it got last night.
Even a Miami Dade circuit court judge in court today, proud of the fact that she stuck it out Wednesday night.
I feel bad for them because they missed an incredible ending to the game and they’ll regret it for the rest of their lives.
And the attitude of the players, oh.
Well, for all those guys who left, make sure they don’t come to game seven. We only want the guys who are going to stay in the building for the whole game.
You give them a small pass because traffic is pretty hellacious in Miami, but they missed out in a historic finish.
Don’t leave early. You can’t get let back in after you leave. I know that. Hell, I’ve been to games. You can’t leave a game then come back. Doesn’t make any.
Yes. You know, all right. Some people, regardless how good you play, at the very last minute, they will quake on you. And guess what? I said. You are dead to me because I am going to go to it anyway. Have a good one, guys. All of.
