Who’s excited? Well, listen, guys, we’re gonna get right into it, right? Because we only have nine minutes.
Um, okay, so a little bit about me before we go into our presentation.
All right, Kobe, here I am.
Um, so we have this amazing hierarchy called the visionaries.
Who’s in the house? But listen, we one day started with just me, myself and I, right? And that’s where we all start.
So I just wanted to share.
Some thoughts of the process of growing in your business when you take your employee hat off.
Alright, because what we see, um, and how we felt when we first came into the business, how many of us in the room today still have a 9 to 5?Raise your hand.
So would we all agree that coming into a business is a little bit of a different process, right? You got to start thinking different.
Like I know, like I didn’t come from sports and so I wasn’t used to being kind of on a team, right? I was used to the corporate America grind where it’s really all about you, right? All about what you’re doing personally.
So I just wanted to give you some thoughts because how many of us want to go to RBP? Like yesterday, raise your hand.
Right.
So we do have to kind of like wash our brain to have new thoughts that can help us elevate in this company by kind of understanding that you might be feeling certain ways you might be behaving certain ways because you had training Primerica business, which quite honestly, I think delays our success here, right? So let’s get right to it.
So the first thing is this, is that when you get started, and I don’t know why my words are not, by the way, I have no idea how to use PowerPoint, but I try to put this together for you guys.
It’s not coming up on the screen, but, oh, well, that would help, right? Let’s see.
I’m like waiting.
Okay, we see.
Alright, so let’s see.
Oh, okay.
Am I going backwards? All right, so the first thing is, I think Joe spoke about this, is that you have to have a purpose of why you’re here, right? See, if you’re in a fight, would you agree that you need to know why you’re in that fight? So at the end of the day, the first thing in helping us, you know, really embrace why we’re here is how many of us here came for freedom?Because we don’t want to boss anymore.
We want to be able to have unlimited income, right? At the end of the day, I think, I mean.
Primerica has paid us more, okay, in one month than we made in a whole year.
How many of you would love to be able to have a 10, 000 income a month? A 20, 000? A 35, 000? A 50, 000?Like Joe and Denise, right? So at the end of the day, you have to recognize that that is not, you know, it’s not like what if.
It is actually a fact that you can get yourself there, right? Family, how many of us, you know, as you hear some really compelling stories, want to spend more time with your family, right?Uh, impact, maybe some of us want to be here because we love the recognition, because how many of us would agree that at a job, you get recognized when things are not going right, right? Not when you did the best job possible, so let’s take a look at some of the things that we need to work on.
As we come into this business with an employee mindset, right? So the first thing is, is what we find is sometimes You know, as Grace said, you have to sometimes show up on a Saturday.
You have to show up to events like this, right? But sometimes we’re resisting that because we don’t really understand that you’re not working for your RVP.
You’re working for your opportunity, right? The, the other thing is, you know, you resist your uplines, you know, coaching sometimes, because how many of us have had bosses that have not done Right by us, right? Or we were up for a promotion, you didn’t get it, right? Or somebody else came in younger than you with less experience, but they gave them the, the promotion. So would you agree that when that happens to you over and over again, you come into a Primerica business and your coach is saying, I want to help you.
I want to get you to the next level.
And our thought process, because we’ve been burned before, is What are they up to? Why do they want me to win? You know, why are they being so nice, right? So at the end of the day, we bring that because of our, our, our corporate background.
The other thing is resisting cheerleading your uplines.
Listen, your, your uplines are your lifeline.
At the end of the day, in corporate America, it’s all about us.
What we’re doing personally, what we bring to the table.
So, of course, we want to shine, but in Primerica, at the end of the day, especially when we’re brand new, you got to pass that, uh, credibility ball to your uplines so they could pass it back to you and give you credibility, right?Um, in terms of the office, it’s also looking at, do you have an office that you could work at seven days a week? How many of us would love to have an office that you could work seven days a week and you’re not paying rent yet? So it’s not looking at the office like it’s their office, I’m not really going to come in and help, it’s my office, taking ownership of the office, right? And last but not least is having an I, me, and my mentality because again, In corporate America, you’re recognized for your personal efforts, but here, you saw how many people passed the stage? That’s a team effort, guys, right? So when we cross the stage, we’re not crossing the stage as Myra Vasquez or Donna Fyfe or Kobe, we’re doing it as the visionaries, right? Alright, alright, so how do we know that people are now getting on track? For RVP, so you choose to set up whatever it takes schedule.
So that means if you have to work weekends, if you have to work after hours, you do that, right? That was one of the things that we started doing right away.
When I asked my vice president, Eddie Gonzalez, what do I have to do to get to vice president? He said, you need to show up more and you need to try.
So, at that point, I was only coming to training once a week, and I said, You know what? I’m going to come to training every training, and I’m going to make this happen, right? You choose to be not coachable, I mean, not agreeable, but at the end of the day, coachable.Because sometimes agreeable is like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I get that, right? But then you just do your own thing, right? You’re like, your upline tells you, do it this way, but you’re like, nah, I think I’m gonna do it this way.
This looks better, right? So know the difference of where you’re at, right? You choose to be the best cheerleader because now you understand that cheerleading your upline means they’re gonna give you that credibility back. You choose to be the number one team player.
See, I’ll tell you this very quickly.
I was not the fastest horse out of the gate in my upline.
And I looked at everybody else and I said, man, they’re so good.
You know, they’re so talented.
They have so much experience.
But you know what they didn’t have that I did work ethic. They weren’t working like me So we were the first regional vice president to get promoted out of our regional vice president’s base Huh, and I don’t say that to impress you But to impress upon you that that can be you because we just fell in line We wanted to be number one right and you choose to be the best student in your business And then, you choose to adopt that we, us, and our mentality because we’re all moving in that one direction and that’s called regional vice president to SNSD, right? Alright, so moving quickly, when you do that, this is what ends up happening.
So fast forward, we were here by ourselves, but now we have, you know, Colby and Donna Fikes, right? Well, Colby Romero, right? She’s married now for a long time, and Donna Fikes, and guys.
You know, when you look at how fast they went to RDP, it was because they were coachable. They were not just agreeable, but they really were coachable, okay? Uh, Donna in 18 months, she beat our record.
Colby, I think it was 36 months, right? I have to do the math.
But, I’ll tell you this, Colby was so coachable, but she came in at 19 years old, right? So, she had a lot of life skills.
So, what do you have to do to get the process?Stop resisting building that top 25, okay? It starts as simple as that.
And if you’ve done one but you haven’t updated, redo it again, okay? The next thing is, who likes pay increases? See, this sold me because one thing that I understood that sold me on Primerica very early on was that at a job, I can’t control my promotions.Or my income, but how many of us understand we could, we could control going from rep to regional vice president, right? So who wants that RVP contract? And this is what our hierarchy looks like today, okay? This is where we’re headed.
We have people like Juanita that got recognized a number of times, right?Sandra Thompson that crossed the stage for her six and so many others.
And I’ll leave you with this.
You gotta know your why.
Our why is our amazing team.
See, we want, we want to promote all of them to regional vice president and our family.
And my time is done, so back to Joe Cardino!
