Video Summary
In this empowering message delivered inside Primerica, Latchme and Shivnarine Gurdyal combine testimony with tactical execution to explain their run toward Regional Vice President. Shivnarine opens with gratitude and humility, sharing that they once stood exactly where many new teammates stand — unsure, questioning, and wondering whether this opportunity was real. Coming from a third-world country, growing up with limited resources, leaving school early, and working construction, he searched for a way out but lacked opportunity. Today, fully investment licensed and on the brink of RVP, he credits their progress not to background or credentials but to belief. Primerica, he emphasizes, does not discriminate based on origin, appearance, or education. The only requirement is commitment and faith in the process. For those doubting themselves, his reassurance is direct: this can be your way out if you decide to believe.
Latchme then shifts the focus to structure and correction. She candidly admits that personal recruiting was once their weakest area. After attending leadership school and having critical conversations, they realized that if they wanted to promote strong and healthy, they had to build width. They began with a measurable goal of five directs in a month. After accomplishing that, they immediately increased the standard to ten. They refused to plateau. For them, growth required raising expectations continuously. However, their philosophy goes beyond stacking numbers. They stress that having many directs means little if those agents are dependent. Their focus became developing independent agents who could write their own business, earn from their own production, and operate confidently. True width is not just numbers — it is duplication and financial independence within the team.
Their long-term vision extends beyond their own promotion. They speak about creating a “popcorn effect” of future RVPs, recognizing that Regional Vice President is not the destination but the beginning of higher-level expansion. Having come from modest beginnings and now building a future for their daughter, their motivation is generational. They want everything this business offers, and they intend to build a structure that promotes others quickly after them.
Execution is where their message becomes highly tactical. They operate with urgency. Every new recruit is seen again within 24 hours to complete orientation, schedule pre-licensing, and immediately construct a Top 25 list. There is no waiting period that allows doubt or inactivity to creep in. Calls are made immediately — sometimes the same day — even through Zoom with phones on speaker. They dissect each Top 25 list carefully using the MACHO framework: married, ages 25 to 55, children, homeowner, occupation. This approach helps identify both strong clients and strong recruiting prospects early. Speed protects momentum, and early results build confidence. When someone joins, they are shown activity and progress immediately.
Throughout the message, their tone reflects partnership — in business and in life — reinforcing that growth in Primerica thrives on unity, mentorship, and shared belief. They emphasize that this business is built on “each one teach one,” a culture where success multiplies through support and example. Their journey demonstrates that doubt can be replaced with clarity, weakness can become focus, and humble beginnings can become leadership platforms.
The overarching message is clear: empowerment begins with vision, but promotion requires disciplined action. Build wide. Develop independence. Move fast. Raise your standards. Believe deeply. And treat RVP not as the finish line, but as the launch point for something far greater.

How we doing, you know, for staff, you know, I want to shout out to God because, you know, without God, nothing is possible. There’s no foundation without him, right. You know, shout out to Keith and Daniel Oto for giving us this opportunity. We appreciate it and it’s a real honor to be up here speaking because we never imaginating like this before. Primerica, right? Shout out to the Salazars. We love and appreciate you guys. To our Primerica parents, David and Joyce Kim. We love you guys. We are truly blessed to have you guys in our life. And for one quick minute, I want to talk to the new people here or the people that has been around for a little bit, but still thinking if I could do this, is this thing real? Or they’re doubting themselves, right?
And I said 1 minute because that’s not my idea, it’s Latchme’s idea. Because if I go for a minute, when I go home back, I got to sleep on the couch. So I’m going to keep it short and sweet, right? So were just in you guys’place like a year ago. We were wondering the same things, right? But I’ll tell you a little bit about myself. I come from a Tord world neighborhood in a tord world country, right? I’m a high school dropout, no education. All I did was construction, right? We were always looking for a way out, but got no opportunity, right? And today we’re standing in front of you guys as fully investment, licensed, soon to become regional vice president. And you know what?
That’s all because Primerica doesn’t care who you are, where you came from, what you look like, or what color you are, right? So I want to assure you guys, rest assured that this is your way out, right? This is your way out. So believe in yourself, believe in your uplines, believe in your company. And with that being said, I want to bring up my partner in business and in life. She’s been the spearhead of our team since we joined this business, and she’s a true champion. Latvin, take over.
Good morning, Empire Builders. It’s truly an honor to be here. We appreciate all of you guys so much, and we just want to help you in whatever way we can, because that’s what this business is all about, right? Each one teach one. We are all here to help each other. So I want to share with you guys first what we are currently doing on our run to RVP. And this business is very transparent, right? And let me just say this. A few months ago, were terrible at personal recruiting, and we came to the last leadership school. We went back home. We had a few conversations while were here, and we realized that was it. That’s what we needed to fix.
And we decided to start focusing on that because we knew that if we wanted to go RVP healthy and strong, we needed to get wide. So we had a monthly goal, first for five directs. And after hitting that, were like, okay, we got to do more ten directs, right? Once you hit that goal, you don’t want to stick to that goal, right? You always want to keep it going up. You want to increase it. So our main focus was recruiting, field training, and developing more directs to become wider. But also, at the same time, we are very focused on developing independent agents. You don’t want to have 20 directs in your team, but you got to do all your appointments, right.
We want to have independent agents so that they can be able to get paid right off of their own pen, just like we are. And we want to be able to create a popcorn effect, right, of RVPs. We want to get promoted and start promoting out RVPs because we all know at the end of the day, RVP is not the end. There is so much more that Primerica has to offer here, and we want it all. We come from a country where weren’t given everything when were younger, and we came here with big dreams, big goals, and we have a daughter in the water park right now that we want to be able to give the world to.
So that is our main focus, giving this opportunity to as many people building wide and just to share with you a little bit of how we create activities. When we recruit someone, we get in front of them within 24 hours to complete that orientation. Right? Schedule, pre licensing, whether it’s online, in person. Build their top 25 list. That’s bold, guys. Literally, sometimes we recruit somebody in the morning, we get in front of them again by evening so we can get that top 25 list going. You build it. Don’t wait until two, three days later to start making calls and booking the appointments. Do it right away. If you’re on Zoom, have them make a call. Put the phone on speaker, connect you. You can speak through the computer. I’ve done it many times. It works, right?
And it’s not just about building the business, but dissecting that list together. And for the new teammates, if you don’t know about macho, it means married. They’re married. They’re aged 25 to 55. They have children, they’re a homeowner, they have an occupation. You want to find out what those people personalities are like, what their professionals like, because there could be potential recruits and clients in there, and you don’t know because you just don’t know who they are, what they’re like. And the person that’s giving you their names and numbers know them and who they are. So, guys, let’s not waste any time. When you recruit someone, show them results right away. And that’s the best time. Get in front of them again within 24 hours after submitting that IBA. Let’s build this business big. Let’s build it fast.
Let’s build it to last, and we’ll see you guys at the top, close.
