You know, today we’re blessed, and we feel so blessed to be here.
I have, um, the opportunity, I have two coaches.
We have the awesome Joe Cardino, right? And we have the awesome David and Joyce Kim, right? So, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t because of the two of them, okay? So that’s very important, right? You always want to be, uh, grateful.And that’s what we are, grateful.
So, I’m a storyteller, so I have this PowerPoint so that I don’t lose my place.
Because it’s true.
So do it right.
You know, a lot of times you come here, you want to know, but what is it that they do? I mean, you hear all these awesome things, but what do we really do? So that’s what I’m going to talk about.I’m going to give you stories about clients that I help, that we have helped.
And cause what we do is really, we impact people.
We, we do an impact and we make a difference.
So I remember when I came to this business, I didn’t come to Primerica to build a business.
I didn’t come here, um, I already had a career, but what I wanted really was to have a career after I finished raising my kids.That was my goal, right? I didn’t want to like after I spent 10, 15 years raising four kids that I have nothing to do and I have to go, what am I going to do? So that’s what Primerica brought to me and I fell in love and then we became RVP.
Okay.
So we do the right things, right? Help people with the investors.So let’s just talk to you how we help families.
Right.
And um, let me just, what do we do? We create a financial plan, which is the FNA.
Okay.
If you’re not doing FNAs, I always say I was a nurse, imagine going to the doctor and when you get there, the doctor says, you know what, when you were here last year, I don’t remember what happened, I, I didn’t really write it down.
Do you, can you tell me, can you update me, would you go back, right? When you don’t do an FNA, that’s what we’re doing, right? We help fly, we help protect people’s income, think about that, right? When people say life insurance, a lot of times you hear clients say to you, I, I, I don’t want life insurance because then, uh, I You know, I might die.I’m like, we’re all going to die.
You might as well die with it.
Right.
Right.
They like, Oh, well, yeah, you might as well have it.
Right.
Leave something to your family.
Right.
We help clients get out of debt.
When I came here, I had debt.
Right.
Cause we did the traditional stuff.
Get a credit card, have a good score, use the credit card.Right.
That’s what we did.
Right.
Empower clients to make better financial choices.
That’s what we do.
We are their guide.
And are they going to remember everything that we said? No, they’re not.
But we gotta make sure that we’re following up.
So I’m gonna tell you this story, right? I met a client, right? In their fifties, right?Remember, uh, I, oh, David always speaks about Carlos Salazar actually always speaks about, he had a phone in the New Yorker.
I also had a phone line in the New Yorker because back in the days where you had your cell phone, if you call a client, they charge you a lot.
You had to call after seven, I think it was, right?That’s when you made all your phone calls.
So I had to pay like money to have this phone.
So, I’m like, damn, I’m paying all this money for this phone and my cell phone and a New York hotel, right? And someone called me and they said, hey, uh, someone told me that Primerica does life insurance and investment and she’s, she, she lives in California, so I, I, one of the yellow pages and I found your name, right?And she called me and she had no life insurance, no investment, right? So, what I did for her was I opened the life insurance, I went to her house and I did an investment for her and this is what happened.
You see that, that, that picture there? That was her goal, that when she retired, right, that she’s able to live watching the poor.That’s what she wanted, right? Cause she lives by the New York Hudson, and she loves that.
And because of the IRA that we did for her, she was able to save this money, and she built an apartment in the Dominican Republic, and she’s moving there next month.
And she, and one of the things she did, she goes, Maggie, you could come to my house in the Dominican Republic, and I’m like, okay, I, I could do that.She goes, but I know that you probably won’t.
So I’m gonna invite you to my house, and I’m making dinner for you.
And I want you to come, because I’m leaving.
And I really want you to come.
So I went over to her, because that’s what clients do.
She said, well, I said, you don’t have to, I want to.
I want to do that.So I went to her house, and she did a great dinner for me and my husband.
And we had a lot of fun.
And when I was there, she goes, you know, I’m leaving to the Dominican Republic.
And I was thinking, do you have health insurance in the Dominican Republic? And I’m like.
I don’t know, but you know what, we have a company, well, let’s call, let’s call Senior Health, right?I did not know that, but they actually have a program that if she’s willing to pay 180 a month, she gets 50, 000 that she could use in the Dominican Republic and she has to go to the emergency room and be hospitalized.
I did not know Primerica does that.
Did you know that? It doesn’t have to be the Dominican Republic, outside the Us.S.
I was like, wow, that’s so powerful.
And she’s so excited about that, right? Because if we know, it’s expensive out there, right? So, but Primerica has power.
And the next scenario is, right, through field training, Uh, you know, a lot of times people come in and they want, they don’t do the field training, or they do the field training, but this lady really wanted to get her bonus.500 was the bonus.
And I said, well, if you really want to get this bonus, you need to introduce me to people.
And we only did four appointments, four field training appointments.
And we protected, you know, this family.
There were about ten people from Africa.
They just came to, from, to the U.
S.
And when I spoke to the young lady, She said, I’ll get life insurance because we’re all responsible for the rent and if something happens, I want to be able to help my family, right? So anyway, she kept her insurance and all that.
So a few years later, I had no, I was like, Oh my God, my business is flat.
Let me do some follow up, right? So I was doing some follow up and I called one of the referrals that had referred her to me and I said, Hey, you, she goes, I don’t remember you.
I said, well, Maggie, you know, Primerica, she goes, I don’t remember.I said, you know what? You remember Erica, she goes, I’m like, what happened? She goes, she passed away.
Like, I want to say two years.
I’m like, oh my god, but let me, let me see, because she had a policy.
And I was able to find out with Primerica , and we were able to pay that death claim almost two years.
And when I call that family, you know, somebody, you get a call that I have money for you, right?How does that sound, right? And they spoke French.
And I don’t speak French, right? So we had a hard time, but let’s, let me, let me say we understood each other very fast.
Right.
And, uh, and I was able to deliver that we’re friends today and we, I was able to protect the family and they’re like, I can’t believe it.How could a company do that? And, and you come to look for us, right? That’s what we, that I, for the new people, that’s what we do.
You know, we make a difference.
We make sure that we send.
Uh, on what we do.
And the next client is another client, right? This client, uh, when I, I have a client that, uh, through field training, her sister, I always ask her for referral.And guess what she did? I don’t have anybody.
I don’t have anybody.
Like, for like, let me say a good five years, she didn’t have anybody.
She never had anybody.
And then one day out of the blue, she goes, Oh, my sister’s about to retire.
And she needs help making a decision.
So I’m like, Oh, okay.
So I go see the sister.When I go to the sister, so she has three whole life policies.
Right? She has four brokerage accounts with three different, four different companies.
She has a disability insurance.
She’s 60 years old.
Right? And, and she’s preparing to retire in two months.
And everything is all over the place.
And she has spoken to her accountant.
And she has a pension.
And the accountant said to her, Oh, uh, your pension, you should take life only.
Right? So she has her paper when I get to her house to take life only.
So, when I go there, I say, let me review your stuff, right? Let me help you review.
And I said, but how much money would you be out of if you take life and if you pass away, your daughter gets the benefit?She goes, it’s 230.
I said, I don’t think it’s worth you taking life then.
I can produce that, we can produce that for you and you will have your, you have more than 230 and you don’t have to take that option because what if you pass away tomorrow? That’s about 60, 000 a year, right? Because she was a nurse.So, we were able to do that, she changed that.
And now we, we took, you know, she had, because she had all these accounts, she has accounts that are producing about 500 to 600 a month.
And I, I call her all the time, I said, Do you need the money? She goes, Maggie.
I really don’t.
I, I, I feel so foolish that I was going to make that decision.I said, don’t feel like that because I am so glad that God put us together, okay? Don’t feel bad because that’s my job, right? To do, thank God that you listen.
Thank God that you listen because you could have listened to your accountant.
And I said, listen, accountants are great, but we do different math.That’s it.
We’re different math.
Because a lot of time people think that because somebody is doing math or a math teacher that they know Primerica.
They don’t.
It’s different math.
It’s like when you go to doctors, the doctor doesn’t know anything about the throat or the eyes.
Come on, a GYN.
You gotta, like, we can’t just tell because this is a doctor, they know, no, right?So we help her cancel the disability insurance, and when she called them, you know what they said? Well, why didn’t you cancel it sooner? She goes, well, it’s the disability insurance, right? They were supposed to let her know that it doesn’t work after a certain point, right? And so today, she has, and we were able to help her with a will and all these things.And right away, she, what she did, she, she referred me, oh, her, her daughter, her son in law, and everything.
So that’s what we do.
If you wanna, if you want people to refer you people, make sure that you’re doing the right thing.
But it all starts with the FNA.
If I wouldn’t have done the FNA, and I would only have gone to do just, um, life insurance for her, I wouldn’t have gotten all the accounts.Okay.
Remember make an impact and make a difference.
And I’ll leave you with this little quote that you will read because my time is up.
Right, Joe? Right.
So there is power this moment.
Now there’s power.
Make sure that you’re here, that you’re present, that you’re paying attention.
Don’t be thinking what’s going to happen tomorrow and all that.
Pay attention because somebody is going to say something that’s going to change your life.
Ray could sell and say something that changed my life.He said, If your Primerica business is broken, fix it.
Because they pay me.
They pay me all the time.
If they’re not paying you, fix it.
So I fix it.
