Video Summary

Vision First — Then Massive Action

In Dream Big, Act Bigger, Colby Romero shares how vision alone isn’t enough. You must act at a level that matches the size of your dreams. She emphasizes leaving events changed—but not distracted. Stay plugged into your leadership’s system and execute the company play.

At Primerica, flexibility comes before full freedom. The opportunity is real—but results require disciplined execution.

From Skeptic To Regional Vice President

Colby joined at 19 after attending an opportunity meeting reluctantly. Initially skeptical, her mindset shifted when she saw the income potential. She and her husband failed licensing exams multiple times but persisted.

Three years later, they became RVPs.

The turning point? Double-digit recruiting.

The Company Play: Simple But Powerful

Colby breaks success into a clear formula:

  1. Recruit directs consistently.

  2. Double-digit recruit with your team.

  3. Get agents licensed ASAP.

  4. Field train immediately.

  5. Promote district leaders quickly.

Nothing else works if recruiting isn’t happening. Growth begins and ends with consistent recruiting volume.

Prepare For Rejection

When you decide to explode your business, expect resistance. Family and friends may say no. Objections are normal—not personal.

Instead of fearing rejection:

  • Get excited when it comes.

  • Master objection handling with your RVP.

  • Follow scripts exactly.

  • Let your trainer do the explaining early on.

New agents often oversell or over-explain. The key is humility and duplication—don’t try to run the entire presentation yourself.

Write The Vision Big

Referencing Habakkuk 2:2, Colby urges leaders to write their vision clearly and boldly. When rejection comes, vision sustains you.

Her personal vision included:

  • Mission work and global outreach

  • Paying for her wedding in cash

  • Building orphanages

  • Traveling the world

  • Creating flexibility for family

These weren’t abstract goals—they became reality through disciplined action inside the system.

Self-Improvement And Belief

Your coaches can believe in you—but if you don’t believe in yourself, progress stalls. Leadership starts internally. Improvement in mindset, confidence, and communication determines growth speed.

Know your team’s goals. Fight for them harder than anyone else.

Dream Big — But Execute Bigger

Colby’s message is clear:

  • Visionaries are made through action.

  • Double-digit recruiting changes trajectories.

  • Promotion speed matters.

  • Rejection builds resilience.

  • Self-belief unlocks results.

Big dreams require bigger execution.

Transcript: So first things first, I just want to thank God. I know everybody starts with thanking God, but it’s just amazing to see that the life that you could live in Primerica comes true and we’re not even free yet. Like we’re just super flexible and this company has allowed us to do such incredible, incredible things.

So, so glad to see you guys out with us. Do we have any visionaries in the house?

Do you guys, do we have vision? I love it. I love it. Okay. So I have a presentation, right? I have a clicker. Whoa. Let’s start with that. No, wrong way. Fancy. So good morning. Good morning. Good morning. The coin that from John. So welcome. So I want to just share with you all how to leave this event changed.

You’re going to get a lot of different messages today. And the one thing that I want to say is don’t leave here and try to change everything that you’ve been doing. Keep following the system that your coach, your vice president, and your leaders. So let’s get started. So let’s start with our story, right?

Um, so that’s my amazing husband. I am obsessed with my husband. I love him so much. Um, so we got started in high school. Alright, like our relationship, not Primerica, but, so we got married, uh, in, uh, 15, we’ve been together 15 years, we got married 9 years ago. Alright, so we met in high school, I got started at 19, my mom invited me to, oh, it’s right there, oh, perfect, okay.

So my mom invited me to an opportunity meeting, I thought that she was trying to sell me deodorant. So I’m like, oh God, what did she join? Like, what is this? Um, it was August 31st, 2011. It was one of those all day op meetings. Like, you know how, like, you get your person there, you do their list, you do their life app, you do their prepaid legal, you do their auto and home.

And I’m like, what do I need all this for, mom? But, okay, Myra said sign here. You know, so you just kind of like go with the flow on everything. Um, but super grateful to my mom for just bringing me to that first event. AKA, a not meeting. So, thank you. And I was the one that you did not want in the room next to your person.

I had a stank face. I’m like, why am I here? And then when I saw six figures, I was like, forget her. I’m doing this for me. I’m in, right? Um, so, we took our life license test two times and our securities test a bunch of times after that. So, for those of you guys that are in the room that are really pushing to get your licenses, keep going.

Don’t give up. Um, it’s so worth it, okay? And Uh, we got to RVP three years later after we joined, and we just had huge goals and a really big vision, and we didn’t know how we were going to get it, oh, good job, nice. So um, we just didn’t know how to do it. So when we joined, double digit recruiting is really what transformed our journey here.

So if there’s one thing that you can do, like walking out of this school, it’s double digit recruit, okay? Um, so if you could write this down, I like the message version, Habakkuk 2 2, it says write the vision. And make it plain, but make it big so you don’t lose sight of it, right? Okay, so here’s the main focus.

You’re going to get a lot today. You’re going to get a lot from this event. But it’s all going to boil down to the company’s play. So number one, write this down. Recruit directs and double digit recruit on your team. That is the number one thing that you need to walk away from here with. Are you recruiting directs, and are you double digit recruiting on your team?

That Because nothing else, you can’t really get anything else from this business unless you’re doing that first. Number two, get your licensed agents, get, get your players licensed ASAP. Field train, get your teammates trained, okay, and promote district leaders. And I’m so proud of our team. We’ve got a lot of people that come through on Zoom.

We’ve got Victor and the Connecticut team who came out from Connecticut. We’ve got Melissa here from, from Florida. We’ve got people from the Bronx. We’ve got people from all over the place, right? Um, but really get into promoting people quickly. Alright, so, when you decide and you make a decision to explode your business, Prepare for these things.

This one, my husband did the Spartan race. It was so much fun watching. Um, so, uh, he, I had this really cool picture of him like jumping across fire and I was like, no, I’ll do this one. It’s cooler. He’s like in the middle of the sky. All right, so rejection is coming. Be prepared for people to tell you no.

You’re gonna leave here excited. You’re gonna leave here like, man, this is gonna be so amazing. Everybody’s gonna say yes to me and then you’re gonna leave and like your aunt’s gonna be like, no, get ready. It’s coming. It’s coming. Everybody goes through that. It’s normal. Master your overcoming objections.

Speak to your regional vice president about how to master your overcoming objections. Know you and your team’s goals. Are you being the biggest fighter on your team to help them reach the goal? And you’ve got to self improve. You have to have a belief system because as much as your trainers, your coaches, your RVP is going to believe in you.

If you don’t believe in yourself, what was the point, right? Like, Oh, it’s gone. Oh, he’s fixing it. Okay. Alright, so what was the point? So, number one, rejection is coming. Get excited about it. When you see red flags, objections, say, Yes, I’m getting close to my goal. Okay? Um, master overcoming objections. Know your team’s goals.

Know, you know, everybody’s goals on your team. And self improve. Alright, so, number one objection, you’re going to get walking out of here. They’re going to ask you, What are you doing? So everybody screenshot this. They’re going to say, but what is it? This is for the new people who are like setting up appointments for the first time.

I’m in training to get my financial licenses to help families become deaf free, properly protected and financially independent. Would you allow me to put you in a, in a text or do a one to two minute phone call so that way I can just kind of explain the details with my trainer. I really don’t want to say the wrong thing since I’m still learning and I’m excited and looking forward to the next step.

Stop trying to give them an op meeting on day one. Cut it out. Oh, but then I explained to them that we do life insurance, and I’m getting my license, and I need help. Can you stop? Can you, can you let your trainer do it for you? Like, let them take control and work for you. We’re gonna work for you. So screenshot this, use this, memorize it, and if they ask you more questions after this, just repeat the last bullet.

Didn’t I say, because I didn’t want to mess up the words, can, can, just, Hold on, I don’t know what I’m talking about. And if they’re like, are you reading? Yes! I don’t want to get the words wrong. Don’t be afraid of following the scripts, okay? Alright, so this is just a little bit about me and my husband. Um, when I first joined this business it was to do mission work.

Um, I didn’t know how it was going to happen, but I had always dreamed of like starting orphanages and doing really cool stuff but I had no money to do it, and I’m 19, you know. So, when we joined the business, our main goal was to go on our first mission trip to Brazil and we saw God do some incredible things.

I mean, healing, metal leaving people’s bodies, we can have a conversation about that afterwards because God is awesome, and one of our biggest things is me and Carlos really just wanted to get married. Like, we just, we just wanted to be together forever. We’re, we’re like those penguins that stick together for life, right?

So, we got married, we paid for our wedding cash, it was the most beautiful day of my life. We did a foot washing ceremony, it was beautiful, um. Amazing. Okay, so that was our first goal checked off. We actually went to Africa for our one year anniversary and we were able to help build up two orphanages and like a discipleship class there.

So it was really awesome. And I don’t say that to brag, but that’s what I came here for. Like I literally came here to start that and we were able to do it and it was just amazing. Like the kids didn’t see bubbles for the first time. Back up. Okay, so the kids didn’t see bubbles for the first time. So that, it was just, it was so beautiful, okay?

So what is the life that you’re gonna create gonna look like? Each and every single one of you have a, have a dream that you came here for. So what is it that you’re gonna do with the dream that God gave you? What is it that you’re gonna do with the vision that God gave you, right? Um, we’ve been able to travel.

The other reason why I came is just like to pack, um, pack a backpack with a bunch of underwear and travel the world. And we’ve been able to do that. You know, it’s just so amazing. My husband surprised me with Barcelona tickets for my birthday, right before the pandemic. Um, we have children, they have hair.

Those are my dogs. Okay. So if you follow my Instagram, you’ll see them. Um, we were able to go to, to El Salvador with my husband’s family. They hadn’t gone back in like 30 years or something, so we were able to go with them there. Um, obviously company trips are incredible. We’ve done a ton of them. Um, and I get to introduce.

Joey and Annie Morales. So we are so excited to be with you guys today I hope you guys get what you came here for and I’m so excited about our visionaries in the room Thank you to Donna and Myra and Joe Cardino for launching this school. Let’s bring out the incredible Joey Morales!
