You know, it’s just crazy how as the years go by, you reflect since when we first started the business and how everybody has grown so much because you hear a lot of the speakers and you’re so impressed by what they’re able to express in the sense of sharing this opportunity with you guys. And you know, I sit here and I think about it. When we first got started early on, we didn’t know if this was going to work. We hoped, we wished. Imagine when we first got started in New York, there were no offices. We were doing a hotel operation and thinking, oh my God, we’re going to the hotel and we gotta bring people to a hotel. And what’s the first thing people think? What are you bringing me to a hotel for? Right.
They don’t understand that there’s a business that we’re trying to explore. And not only that, at the same time, there were no hundred thousand dollar earners, there was no real success. We just heard some success out there in the wind somewhere in California. And were only hoping that we could probably be the first to actually make this thing. And you know, when we sit here and you know, a lot of people do a lot of presentations, you can tell we don’t have a presentation, but we have one for you within our heart and we can only share with you what we had experienced. There was a lot of times when we first got started, we hoped, we wished, we understood that sometimes this wasn’t going to be easy and we doubted ourselves. How many people ever feel that way? Okay.
And you got to understand over time that if you just forge forward, do what you have to do, and in the sense of getting out there and start talking to people, start prospecting, maybe you’re going to have family members that are going to question you, what are you doing, what are you getting involved in? And at the same time might not join you. And then you start to create something called self doubt and you start saying to yourself, can I really make this work? And then you got to venture out and say, I got to go talk to somebody else if they don’t want to listen and I got to go find people that are going to listen to us.
And we realized over the years that if it wasn’t going to be our friends and it wasn’t going to be our family, who else? Someone else, right? And we started to introduce ourselves to people that we didn’t know. Actually, I remember years ago I used to ask Shelly, come on, let’s go prospecting. We used to go and were in a competition who was going to get more numbers. And we used to go prospecting. We get 10, 15 numbers every day. And in that process, we started creating something called traction. And we started finding people. And believe it or not, our whole business is in the coal market. So when anybody sits there and says, I don’t have anybody to talk to, allow that not to be your excuse.
Allow it to realize that you got to start creating new friends and start creating people out there. There’s people out there waiting for you. And, you know, we sat here and we used. They always used to tell us that, you know, they wouldn’t pay us the hundreds of thousand dollars that they pay us today if it was easy. But we also realized it was going to be worth it. And that sometimes is. Sometimes we lose hope. And we say to ourselves, could this really work for us? And it absolutely does work for you. You gotta get actively involved in the process and realize that nothing’s gonna stop you. And in that process, you’re gonna find leaders, and you’re gonna find leaders like a Jerry Hernandez, right, that, you know is gonna go to 200,000. You’re gonna find leaders like Bernard Alerte.
I remember Bernard Alerte was introduced to us, and he actually was a referral from somebody that came down, saw the business, and we got the referral, and what did we do? We called him, invited him down. Now he’s an rvp. Okay. Of course we wanted to keep that person, but they’re not here. So what? We keep on going. You got to get referrals. And at the same time, then you’d find other RVPs, like Tim Napalanco and Angel and Myra and obviously Donna Fikes and understanding. In that process, you find leaders like a John Bacone that’s going to go to a million dollars. And he’s so damn excited, he doesn’t even know what to do with himself. And every time I’m seeing him, he’s like. I was like, what is wrong with you? I could see his head is computing the dog.
He goes, you know how much I’m saving? Do you know how much I’m saving? He’s constantly computing. And, you know, that was not the John that got started here, but that’s the John that lived through the process of growing a business and actually listening to his mentors of what he needed to do. And that’s what he focused and he’s hardworking. But realize, a lot of us, we gotta realize we can’t be afraid of the hard work. It’s really not hard work. It’s just talking to a few people who talk to a few people. And then eventually you become RVP. And then eventually you start promoting some RVPs. And as you promote a few RVPs, things start to flourish. And eventually you work yourself out of a position and you never have to be on appointments again. Who wants that one, right?
Ray hasn’t been on an appointment 25 years, okay? I do them because I don’t have anything else to do, so I do them, okay? But at the same, not because I have to. We have a great life. The first five years in this business, we became financially independent, debt free. We didn’t have to worry about anything financial. We still don’t have to worry about that. It’s funny, the other day were talking and he says to me, you know, Carol, what do you want to do with. We’re selling a prop. We weren’t selling a property. Somebody made us a very good offer on a property. And he says, so, what do you want to do with that property? You want to sell? Then we don’t sell. Should we sell? Should we don’t sell? And I said, honestly, I don’t know.
What do you want to do? And then he says, well, maybe we’ll. I said, you know what? Sell it, and then we’ll buy something else. And he goes, okay, you want to buy something else? I said, yeah, because we got to think of our kids, not for us. We have plenty. We don’t have to worry about money for us. We’re worried about our, you know, for our kids. Then my son turns around, says, ma, you don’t worry about us. Just put the money away somewhere. You could just use it. Don’t do anything anymore. And, you know, I’m so proud of my son because he’s the youngest of four. And the reason I say I’m so proud of him is he gets out there every day and talks to people. Goes to a new territory, dress rights business.
And he says, I just closed another app. I just hired this person. I just did this, I did that. And he said, sometimes you hear parents that have been in the business, you can start using your CRM. He goes, I don’t want to use nothing of your CRM. I want to do my own thing. I want to go do what I got to go do. And he actually does it on his own. He realizes that he’s building that thick skin, that mental toughness, that. That tenacity of wanting to go do something special. And you know, Matthew, I truly appreciate you for the boy you are, the man you are. Okay, my son. I’m going to get emotional, but, you know, he is very courageous, very disciplined, and very motivated to go build one of the biggest businesses out there. And.
And that all happened because they saw the image of our discipline, our work ethic and doing what we needed to do and cheerleadership and sharing with them how this business could be something incredible for them. So do that for yourselves and realize, take advantage of this opportunity. Do not sit there and say, oh, I gotta think about. Stop thinking and start doing action. Rewards you tremendously. Asif told you that, okay. That’s why his income is at almost 400,000. He’s doing the action, he’s doing the necessary things. And we appreciate our uplines. Of course, Roy and Ann, we appreciate you. All the leaders that help us. Tony and Shelly are always there any way to support and cheerlead us. We appreciate you guys, obviously, Keith and Danielle, for all you do. And of course, Patty and John.
And, you know, I couldn’t do this business without Ray. He’s my partner. He’s the love of my life. Let’s get up for the awesome Ray Costello.
All right. Man, oh, man. Is anybody excited? I don’t know about you, but I’m freaking excited. All right. We had a special meeting yesterday with the board of directors. And, man, talk about energy and synergy and what’s going to happen. It just borders on ridiculous. I think about it sometimes and always bring me back to the great Joe Ensor, how he used to say, and start every meeting on the board or on the projector. He’d always have. Believe in the possibilities. Believe in the possibilities. Because it don’t matter where you came from, it don’t matter how you grew up. It don’t matter if you went to school or got good grades or you went to school and were a C student like me, because I used to see as much as I could off the A students. That’s how I became a C student.
And I hated when they would see that I was seeing and they. And cover up, because then I could only get the C enough to get a C, you see. But I’m excited about the newer people coming on board in this company because it’s the beginning for you. You’re just starting. You have those golf ball eyes like, could this be real? Could this be true what they’re saying, that I could make 10,000amonth and 20,000, then get to a million that I Could change my whole family’s trajectory forever. Could that be? Could. Could. Could it really? Could. Are they all actors in this room? And everybody here is an actor except me, and they’re trying to get my money. Well, if were trying to get somebody’s money, we wouldn’t be looking for you. Cause you ain’t got no money.
We don’t need the $89 you have left in your checking account. You know your IBA bounced, right? The $49. We got the email on you. You know your IBA didn’t go through because the $49 bounced. I’m kidding, but I’m not. You gotta believe that this could happen for you. Because if you don’t believe in you, who really will? How many times as an adult, has someone came up to you and patted you on the back and said, man, I believe in you. You’re gonna be big. You’re gonna be an rvp. You’re gonna be awesome? From my background, the only person that ever said that to me was Roy Lipson growing up in the business. Joe Cardino saying stuff like that to me. Joe Inser saying stuff like that to me. Nobody ever said that to me.
You know what I used to get from uncles and aunts and cousins that were older than me? You ain’t gonna be. You stay away from my money. And then there’d be an argument. I’m licensed. You don’t understand. You think I would hurt you? You and my family think I would hurt you? I want to show you how to. Don’t. No, no. It’s all right. We’re all kidding. Where we are. And then they look at us now. They come to our house sometimes. They see how we live, and they’re like, oh, shit. You know, some stuff I’ve only been trying to tell you for 30 years, you numbskull. And if that hasn’t happened to you yet, get ready, because it will.
See, I believe that if you don’t believe in you and you don’t have pep talks for you, if you don’t say to yourself, good stuff, no good stuff will ever happen to you. I think too many people talk too bad to you, and you get used to it, you know? Some of you have kids and, you know when they’re rambunctious in the backseat, you know, making noise. Shut up. You stupid. You ever get that when you were a kid? I mean, I remember being a kid. We didn’t have car seats. Didn’t even have seat belts. When I was a kid, my dad would Stop the car. My whole body would hit the back seat. I turned out all right. I don’t know how many times I was sitting in the front seat and have to hold myself against the dash sometimes growing up.
Now we have two car seats in the back of my truck. It’s limited to the amount of people we could have because we have car seats, grandbabies, and we love them to death. And I think about the future that they’re going to have. They’re going to have the future we never thought we could have, never even dreamed about, the future that we could have that they’re going to have because of this business. When I think about Anthony and Donna, what they’re going to have in the future. When I think about our son Matthew and Sandra and, you know, Lizzie and Sammy and so many people that are just starting to believe, they’re just starting to believe in the possibility that this could really be for them.
When I think about John Pecone Jr. And I remember we had a board meeting like four, five years ago, and he kind of snuck in and sat at the table. And I walked over to him, not to embarrass him. I said, you can’t sit here, John. You didn’t qualify. And he was like, oh, okay. And then he told me later on, he said, he went in the hallway and started stomping on the ground and slamming his feet up with the winter. And I said, you know why you did that, John? He said, why? I said, because you got winter inside and you felt you deserved to be at that table, but you didn’t do the work to get there. And at this board meeting, I made sure that I had his seat right where? The same seat that he snuck into.
Because he won this time. He did what he had to do. Sit there, you know, and when you get people to start to see that they talk different, they act different. Yeah, yeah. They get a little different attitude. When Juanita and Sean sat at the table, hundred thousand dollar income earners before RBP and they’re not even RVP’s yet. You think they believe it can happen? They know that it can happen for them. Sandy’s sitting there and going through what she’s been through and I see that. And her eyes twinkle as she walked in a hotel. She saw me and she, oh, you know, I made it right. You know, I hit it. I said, yeah, I know, Congratulations, you’re gonna be big one day. And then on the table we had all the RVP’s.
And if they were close to, if like Bernardo Alerte and Eileen. They’re close to svp. So on their nameplate, I didn’t put svp, I put nsd. Because they’re gonna be nsds. When I saw the rvps, and a lot of them looked at their ray, it I say, yeah, it says svp, because of what we’re doing, you’re going to be an svp. And you know what made me even more proud? To be able to put on Roy and Ann’s name? Nsd. It’s so big. I don’t think some of us know how big it can because of you. You the one sitting in your seat right now. It’s up to you. Is this going to be a phase of your life or a way of your life? It’s up to you. We love you all. God bless you. We’ll see you at the.
