Listen, we’re super excited.
This is.
Believe it or not, this will be my 22nd year license with the company, Eric’s 20th year license, Primerica.
We’re not a part of Primerica.
Primerica is a part of us.
Y’all hear me? Okay? And, man, we live to be a part of this thing.
I want to take a special moment to recognize my.
My.
My heroes.
My mom and dad, edn, Yvonne Ortiz, right here.
Legends in the company.
You know, we saw how this business changed their lives, and ever Since I was 7, Eric was 5, their life continued just to get better and better.
People ask, man, how do they look so young all the time? Well, listen, man, they don’t really have that much stress, right? I mean, Dad’s walking around with a sling on, right? Every time he talks back to mom will jack him up real quick, right? So he’s got that sling on, right? But, man, but listen, we’ve literally built through every phase in this business.
Every phase that you could think of, right? As an office manager being fired multiple times before the age of 18.
For our parents, building it by ourselves once we got licensed at 18, building it with significant others, and then now building it now altogether license as one of the very first families in Primerica to merge and run it as a true financial family business.
Man, it’s just absolutely incredible to do something like that, man.
And ultimately, we’re working very hard to not only make sure that we push our base shops, make sure that we push the hierarchy, and ultimately push Primerica as it continues to grow.
Listen, every phase.
Every phase has its ups and downs, and we knew that, but we know that every down, right there was a lesson to be learned.
We always focus in.
You guys are gonna hear from some of the greatest speakers in the entire company.
I’m very biased.
I think Bill Whittle is absolutely incredible, y’all.
Since I was a young man, he always told us to focus in on the two things that you can control.
Attitude and activity.
Attitude and activity, y’all.
And, man, I’m telling you, we always had our goals written down.
We always.
We always had them broken down into smaller goals, and we made sure that we had accountability calls on a daily basis still to this day to make sure that we’re on track.
You know, I want to say thank you to my dad.
I don’t know if you guys know his dad.
Every single day for the last probably 12 years, he creates a RVP accountability sheet that makes us track our metrics, make sure that we’re growing wherever we’re at, man.
And he wakes up at 4am every morning to do something like that.
As a matter of fact, we got a sheet this morning before we got to the event.
And he’s just absolutely amazing, man.
That’s my hero, my legend, my idol, my mentor.
Dad, I’m so honored to be your son, man.
But listen, we show up every single day.
Myself, Jackie, my wife, my brother Eric, my sister in law, Bryn, mom and dad.
And man, we continue to make sure that we move this company in the right direction so that we could be an example for the company.
We didn’t always.
You don’t have this opportunity in corporate America.
How amazing is this, y’all? Right? Two people like Andy says, how amazing is this, y’all? Okay? But you guys gotta realize what’s happening right now, y’all.
You gotta make sure that you’re in alignment with the company.
And go after greatness, you have to get after it, y’all, right? You have to choose personally to go after greatness.
I really believe that true greatness starts with individuals, right? True greatness is when you’re in the middle of a moment, you’re in the middle of a decade of dominance, and you choose individually to rise up.
You choose individually.
Winston Churchill said this, y’all, right? He said, if we are together, nothing is impossible.
If we are divided, all will fail.
And so our top priority in the hierarchy has always been alignment.
Has been recruiting, has been licensing, has been building RVPs, building premium and building momentum.
That’s all we focus and that’s all we talk about.
Centuries, long ago.
Listen, I was doing some research.
For centuries long ago, Benjamin Franklin said that all mankind was divided into three types of groups, okay? You guys ever heard of this before? Three types of groups.
The first group are those that are immovable.
Those are.
We all know people like this, they never gonna change, right? As much as you talk to them, they’re gonna change.
As much as you want to try to change, you’re wasting your time because they’re never gonna change.
Y’all understand that Those are immovable.
The second group of those people are those that are immovable.
Movable.
See, the problem with movable is that it is a potentiality.
It is a potentiality.
I like to call these types of people should heads and assholes.
Okay? I should have done this.
If I had more information, if I had more training, I would do more stuff.
Or they ask you tons and tons of questions, but they never do anything.
But the third group, y’all the third group are the ones that change the world.
Those are the ones that move.
Those are the ones that move, and those are the ones that build momentum to do great things.
We hear from Coach Whittle all the time, and it made me think about Coach Wooden said the legendary basketball coach of ucla, and he said, every day is your masterpiece.
Every day is your masterpiece.
Is there anything I could get into y’all here today is that you have to go out and make every single day your masterpiece.
You got one today, it ain’t coming back.
You ain’t gonna get another one.
You don’t even know how many more you got.
So you gotta go out and make today your masterpiece, y’all.
Your destiny is determined daily.
See, the way we got in our hierarchy to where it’s at right now, man, is that we focus on momentum daily.
You gotta get up, you gotta show out, you gotta perform and drive your life to destiny.
See, time is very short, and I’m gonna pass this over to Eric in a minute.
Time is very short.
Abraham Lincoln said, in the end, it’s not the years in your life that counts.
It’s the life in your years.
Pull this slide up for me real quick.
Is this a coincidence, y’all? Right, if A, B, C, D, E, F and G all the way to z equals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, all the way to 26, then knowledge.
If you put the numbers together, knowledge actually equals 96%.
Hard work is important, equals 98.
Both are important, y’all.
However, the totals fall very short of 100.
The only thing that falls in that hundred category is attitude, is how we focus in on attitude and determining what we do daily, man.
Listen, y’all, I’m going to leave this with this.
You’re a part of something special and you have something great.
Primerica is amazing because you could literally be having the absolute worst month you could be having.
And in a fraction of a second, you could turn it around and be having the best.
As long as you stay consistent in your activity and stay positive in your mentality, you have.
Listen, we have 893 days until the next convention, y’all.
Did y’all know that? 893 days.
And if you don’t have your goals written down and if you don’t have a plan of action to get there, you’re probably not gonna make it.
Or even worse, you’ll get there with the same place you’re at right now.
Let’s go after this thing and let’s get after it.
Go Ahead, Eric.
Man, that’s awesome.
That’s awesome.
That’s awesome, man.
Give it up for my brother one more time, man.
Give it up for my brother, man.
Listen, listen.
I’m putting this right.
Jason, can you hold this for me, please? Guys, listen, man, we would not be anywhere without our wonderful God that we serve, Laura.
Also, we want to just give thanks to the aviator hierarchy, man.
Guys, we are just the face of you guys.
You guys make us look good.
I can look a little bit better, right? But you guys make me look good, man.
I appreciate you guys and more.
And also on top of that, man, I want to give a shout out to my spouse.
We are reflections of our spouses as well, too.
Jason has a beautiful spouse.
Jackie, I have a beautiful spouse.
Bryn, I am the head of our family.
But she’s the neck, shoulder, knees and toes, right? And so, man, we’re just so fortunate to have such an amazing family.
Family business.
And especially with mom and dad, man, we love you guys so stinking much, man.
Dad always says Jason is his favorite child, right? But he me the most, right? So I love that.
I love that.
Now, guys, I’m a father.
I’m a father of three kids.
Three boys.
Three beautiful boys.
Who here has kids? Awesome.
Awesome.
As you know, when you’re dealing with kids, sometimes you just can’t tell them what to do.
You have to show them what to do, right? You can’t just tell them, don’t do that, don’t do that.
You gotta show them through your actions, right? So I’m gonna do an exercise that I do with my kids with you guys.
You guys, okay? You guys okay with that? All right, Jason, can you get over here, please? Listen, Jason.
Jason is you, right? Let’s just say Jason is you in this journey called Primerica, right? And in order for him to get to me, right, I’m going to put up some stepping stones, right? I want you, Jason, to get to me.
All right? Stay with me, guys.
I want you to get to me.
But the only way you can get to me, Jason, is by stepping on those stepping stones.
Can you go ahead and do that for me? Right? And when you get here, give me a high five.
Good.
High five, man.
Good.
High five.
Was that a pretty easy journey? Now, Jason, go back.
Go back.
Should we challenge it up for him a little bit? All right, let’s challenge it up.
Let’s take out these stepping stones.
Let’s take out these stepping stones.
All right.
All right, now.
Now I’m all the way over here.
I’m all the way over here.
Now I have my high five up.
Is it possible for Jason to get to me in one leap? No, it’s not your question.
I know he might be ripped and strong and everything, but an Olympic athlete, can he jump from here, over here and give me a high five? Absolutely not.
Absolutely not.
Now why do I say that? Because this right here, this is a great representation.
Just if you get a little bit closer, right? If this is a great representation, my hand represents your long term goal.
Your long term goal, whether it being an rvp, being a million dollar earner, being whatever it is, right? That’s your long term goal.
Those little stepping stones are your short term goal.
And sometimes we get so focused in on our long term goal that we would neglect the short term right now.
What’s the short term? I need to get a district.
I need to promote some districts.
I need to get fully licensed.
I need to learn how to do an F and A.
I need to train some people.
Right? And if you’re not clear on those short term goals, they say right there, if you’re not clear on those short term goals, look, this is what happens.
This is what happens, Jason.
Now face backwards.
I’m still here.
I’m the long term goal.
I’m the long term goal, Jason.
Yep, you can start getting short term distractions, you start getting, hey, what’s on Netflix, what’s on Facebook, what’s on Instagram, oh, let me go out, let me go to the movies in the middle of the day.
Let me go do this, let me go do that.
Jason, stand on the last one and face the other way.
And next thing you know, your long term goal is here, but you’re not looking at it.
You’re not looking at it.
And this is what happens.
One of two things happen.
The first thing is you say, you know what, I really didn’t want that long term goal.
Maybe I don’t want rvp.
Maybe I just want to be a qualified district.
Or maybe I just want to be a, you know, a licensed representative.
Or maybe I just want to be somebody in the crowd, you know, so I can just be in the room and I’ll get twoed out by my codes, right? Or this is what happens.
Jason states his back towards me and he starts resenting the long term goal.
I didn’t want to be RVP anyways.
I didn’t want to show up to those meetings.
Those guys really don’t make that type of money.
They don’t Change lives like that, right? So what am I saying with you guys? Listen, the long term goal is phenomenal.
Have a long term goal.
You should always have a long term goal.
But show me the work show.
Show me what you’re doing on a daily basis in order to get there, right? How are you prospecting? Are you working on your craft? Are you watching videos? Are you recording yourself? Are you getting held accountable by your coach? Right? Cause listen, I want you guys to write this down.
This is an important phrase.
Words whisper.
Actions scream.
Words whisper.
Action scream.
You could tell me all day what you’re doing, but if you’re not showing up early and you’re not staying late and you’re not being committed, you’re not doing more than an employee, than you’re just going to be showing up broke.
Guys, the reason I say that, listen, I get so passionate about this business because I know what it can do to the next generation.
We know what it can do for the next generation.
The life that we live has been incredible.
And all I ask is everyone who here has kids.
You just gotta bust it out, man.
Bust as hard as you can.
And the reason why is because the lifestyle that you can provide for your kids is next level.
Next level.
Nobody can.
Even when you start talking to other people about the lifestyle that your kids have, sometimes it’s laughable.
Like I was talking to my friend the other day, I was like, man, we’ve been to Hawaii 20 something times because of Primerica.
We’ve been almost all 50 states, right? We have millions of dollars saved up right before the age of 40 years old.
And it’s crazy to say that because we’re just products of this environment here.
Guys, listen.
Words whisper.
Action screws.
All I ask of you guys, all I ask you is that today you’re gonna have the coach of coaches coming out here.
This guy has helped my father and my mother grow up in this business just by his teachings.
Let’s get better today, let’s get better.
Let’s make sure that when we leave this environment, that we come out different, that we didn’t come back, come out looking like the same person.
We come out with a different attitude, different motive, better husbands, better wives, better business owners, better down loans, better uplines, and let’s go after it.
All right? Fair enough.
Because you all know who we are.
We are love you guys who.
