Good morning, everybody.
Good afternoon.
Right? So how we feeling this morning? Who woke up this morning? Who woke up this morning? Right? Trick question.
Right? So I want to share with you something that was shared with us a couple of months ago.
It was ten days before the convention.
And Whitney Cooper, who is a near term million dollar earner, comes up with this idea that we’re going to get on a a.m.
Zoom call to talk about this morning miracle.
And I was like, no, I’m not doing that.
Right.
So I missed the first one.
And then I said, you know, my morning routine kind of is not great.
And maybe some of you share that, right? You either wake up really rushed and hectic, or you wake up really, like, slow and slogging around.
So I said, you know what? I’ll get on this call.
And what they introduced to us was this book called the Miracle Morning by Hal Elrode.
I really want to, guys, if you don’t know that book or you know nothing about it, I’m really going to recommend strongly get the book.
It is how to put together a winning morning routine so that if you win the morning, Roy, then you win the day.
Right? Like, that’s the idea of it.
So here’s the story behind Miracle morning.
Hal Elrod is some dude who was very successful in his sales organization.
And then he’s 20 years old, and he’s driving home in his ferrari, and he gets into a head on collision, traumatic brain injury, the whole bit.
Then he recovers from that, builds his sales practice back up again, and then the economy tanks, and he goes through bankruptcy, and he’s in a depression.
And a buddy of his said, dude, you know what you need to do? You need to go for a run and clear your head.
And he’s like, I don’t want to go for a run.
He’s like, no, go for a run and clear your head.
And then he came up with this acronym for what to do to put his life back together.
And the acronym is savers.
So it stands, and we’ll go through what it stands for, but it.
So every morning he does savers.
And I want to go through that with you.
And maybe we could even participate a little bit.
Maybe we could even participate a little bit.
Okay? But the bottom line is every success story starts with unbelievable failures.
You guys understand that, right? Like, the success, the road to success goes what? It goes right through the garbage dump, right, Paul? I mean, it’s not like some meteoric rise.
So if you guys are struggling, if you keep, like, you know, you feel like you’re winning, and then all of a sudden you’re struggling again.
You get kicked in the teeth, and then you’re winning, and then you get kicked in the teeth again.
Do you know that’s the way it’s supposed to be, Donna? Like, that’s not like, you know, that’s not like, oh, I must suck.
Oh, God must not want me here.
No, it has nothing to do with that.
That’s actually the way the story goes, so don’t lose hope in that.
Actually, that should give you a ton of hope.
Okay, so the first s is silence.
And silence could comprise a lot of different things.
It could be your meditation time, your prayer time.
In the little yellow box, it says how many minutes you want to devote to something like that.
So five minutes to just kind of breathe in.
In fact, if we could do this together.
Okay, we’re going to breathe in for a count of eight.
We’re going to hold it for four, and we’re going to breathe out for eight.
You guys ready? So breathe in one.
2345-678-1234 now breathe out.
1234-5678 how many of you struggled on the breath? In part because we’re not trained to deep breathe.
We’re not trained to do that.
We are all shallow breathing.
So you want to, you know, do that deep breathing, that practice of deep breathing, it will calm you down.
It does something with the vagal nerve where it calms you down.
So try that in the morning.
Silent time, prayer time, breathing time, and reflection time.
The A stands for affirmations.
Now, I’m going to keep it very real with you guys.
I always thought affirmations were full of crap.
I mean, seriously, you’re sitting there, I’m a millionaire, I’m a winner, I’m doing this.
And meanwhile, you’re saying to yourself, you’re so full of crap, you’re doing nothing, you got no money, right? And so affirmations were always really hard for me.
But I think one of the things with affirmations is if you say it as if you’re predicting your future, so you’re not just saying it grace, but you’re also kind of visualizing it happen and stuff like that.
I think affirmations could then be a lot more powerful.
Like, one of the things I noticed, I started saying to myself, and it was a losing practice.
I started saying things like, man, I’m forgetting every damn thing.
I must be getting older.
I’m just forgetting everything.
I’m forgetting.
And guess what, Joe? I forget every damn thing.
So I started saying, I have a really great memory.
I remember everything.
It’s unbelievable how much I remember.
My mind is like a steel trap.
And guess what? My memory’s getting better.
It’s just this weird thing.
So affirmations are very powerful.
And I think that start, look at what you say to yourself.
That is not helping.
You just make a mental download.
What are some of the stupid things I say to myself all day? Like, what are some of the stupid things I say? Right, okay.
And then you can write something that changes that for you, and it would be very powerful.
The V stands for visualization.
Again, it’s interesting, but people really struggle with visualization.
I don’t know why.
You’re not supposed to just visualize the outcome.
You’re actually supposed to visualize the behavior that gets you to the outcome.
Does that make sense, you guys? So, like, when Olympic athletes train to visualize their Olympic.
Whatever it is that they’re doing, they don’t just look at the outcome.
They also visualize, I’m going to step like this, and then I’m going to jump up on that second, and then whatever, you’ve got to visualize how to get there.
Like, in 1998, the company opened trips to people under the level of RVP, and it was to Hawaii.
And I remember thinking to myself, holy cow, I want to win Hawaii.
Like, there’s no shot I will ever get to Hawaii.
I want to win Hawaii.
We put an advertising campaign in our brain.
I bought a little cassette tape of hawaiian music.
I put it in my boombox.
The boombox used to flip the.
Flip the cassette back and forth, and I would go to sleep listening to this music.
And then we won Hawaii.
We were the only person under the level of RVP in Penn’s entire hierarchy that won Hawaii.
So visualization is extremely effective, and you’re supposed to do that for five minutes, then exercise.
Now, this is a big one.
Some of you are totally committed to it, and you’re into it and you do it, and some of you are like, nah, I got no time.
I got no money.
I just don’t have the energy.
It’s too much for me.
But exercise doesn’t have to be.
You’re killing it for 45 minutes in cardio.
It could be something as easy as sitting in a chair and then just standing up and sitting down ten times.
Want to try that? Let’s not do.
Let’s just do it three times.
If you’re physically able, if you’re physically able push your chair back.
No, because some people can’t do that.
Okay.
Stand up.
Sit down.
Stand up.
Sit down.
Stand up and sit down.
Don’t you feel a little better? You feel Juanita was really taking it seriously? Juanita, I saw you.
She took it really serious.
But it could be anything and it could be short.
It could be 1 minute of moving around.
But I want to recommend to you the Tony Horton ten minute trainer.
It’s by beachbody.
If you really are pressed for time, the ten minute trainer is a hell of a workout in ten minutes.
And then reading.
The r stands for reading.
I’m going to leave this up there so you could read that.
But it’s reading.
Reading leaders are readers, guys.
You can’t.
I know some people say, well, I’m just going to listen to the book on audio.
So is that better than not reading at all? Yes.
But is it the same as reading? No.
Reading.
There’s something between the connection with your eyeballs and your brain and stuff.
You train yourself to read ten pages a day, guys, for some of us, that might take 30 minutes, and for some of it might take ten minutes, but train yourself to read.
This says put 20 minutes toward that.
And then the last one is scribing, which is a bit fancy word for journaling, that you want to write down your reflections and your thoughts and stuff like that.
Now, tell me that is not a cool morning routine.
Right.
So there’s a ton of resources for the morning miracle.
I want to give you one.
You’re welcome to do it and you’re welcome to not do it, but you want to take this down.
We do a morning miracle call every morning at a.m.
It’s 15 minutes.
It starts at seven.
It’s over at 715.
If you would like to jump on and start to get this habit, the zoom id is 282-124-9129 there’s no password.
You’re welcome to get on, you’re welcome to not get on.
But if it helps you, I wanted to make it available to you.
We love you guys.
Let’s have a great afternoon, okay?
