One root cause of ulcers, migraines, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attacks, strokes, and suicides is stress.
And number one cause of stress in our country is financial stress.
You’re not here just to recruit people and talk about insurance investments to make money.
You’re here to change people’s lives.
It’s a lot bigger than just you making money.
And just to be clear, these words bill of render used to always say and still does, and they echo loud inside me is if you don’t do it.
As far as the families out there, no one came before you, and no one’s coming after you.
You’re here for a reason and a purpose.
Did you know that in America today, there’s 3 million doctors and nurses? There’s 2 million lawyers.
There’s 2 million real estate agents.
And most people don’t need to go running today to go see a doctor, lawyered, medical nurse, or a real estate agent.
There’s only 350,000 people in this field, and the average age is 64 years old.
That’s not too old to work, but it’s so dad gum residual, they’re not working.
They’re fishing, golfing, boating.
They’re not working.
As a result, 90% of this country, 90 million out of 100 million households are struggling financially, and no one’s coming before you, and no one’s coming after you.
If you don’t get to them, they don’t get got to.
And as a result, they’re going to struggle in their marriage, struggle in relationship.
The bible says people perish for lack of knowledge.
Right? That’s true spiritually.
It’s true physically.
If you know four McDonald’s whoppers sorry.
Whoppers? Big Macs? Whatever four whoppers a day and crack and cocaine and heroin is bad for you just start doing it.
You’ll find out it’s bad for you.
And it’s also true financially.
We teach people how money works, and because of that, we can change their lives.
Amen.
I want to also remind you, this ain’t no thing.
When you talk to people, one of my pet peeves in life, I just got to get this out there is when someone says to you, so what do you do? What company are you with? Never ever have I said Primerica.
Ever.
So what company are you with? My answer is, I’m with Primerica.
I’m not sure if you heard, but we’re the only company welcoming 50,000 new clients per month, families completely saying, your stuff is better than my stuff.
Switch me over.
We’re the only company with documented more people making 100,000 a year, a half a million a year, a million, 2 million, 3 million, 4 million, 5 million a year, more than any company in the world.
This ain’t no thing.
This is the most proven opportunity on the planet, and we’re just getting started.
So this topic today is about catching the wave, okay? And listen, me and surfing, I’m like, why wouldn’t we want to stand on an ironing board in the middle of the water? I don’t know.
But when it comes to surfing, I did hear a few things, and as if you have if you want to catch a wave, you better always be paddling.
Okay? You can’t be standing still and catching a wave.
And this talk is probably the most unique talk of all talks I’ve ever given.
This is probably something no one else in Primerica ever talks about, but it’s made a significant impact in my life.
Actually has made $23 million of impact in my life.
That’s how much this company has paid my family because of this topic.
Let’s go through it real quick.
Is it on the screen right now? Okay, I call this the Streak.
So, bottom line is, years ago, there’s a basketball team called the UCLA Bruins, okay? A coach named John Wooden.
And they won 88 games in a row.
And the whole country was talking about the fact of their streak is unbroken and it keeps on growing.
Years ago, as a baseball player named Joe DiMaggio, who got a hit in 56 straight games my wife loves a great baseball game, especially when there’s a field goal in the last 10 seconds of game and the other team wins or someone gets a high sticking penalty.
Loves a good baseball game.
Anyway, bottom line, she’s amazing, though.
She’s incredible.
Give it up.
My wife wasn’t for her.
She’s the one who loves on our team.
Loves our business, loves everything about what we do, and a huge encourager and a support and a competitor, too.
Man, she wants to win.
Bottom line is, there’s also a streak with this guy named Assad Faraj, who for 23 years and eleven straight months has never had a zero next to his name when it comes to direct recruiting.
Let’s talk about this for a second.
Next page.
Oh, I got to turn this.
Where do I point? Okay.
All right.
So America is infatuated with streaks.
Primericans need to become infatuated with streaks.
Follow me for a second.
I didn’t sorry.
It’s an old slide, but it’s paid me $23 million.
Become infatuated with streaks.
We’re going to talk about what that means.
What’s cool about a streak is forever.
You can never have to work again, and you can only play.
One thing I learned, nobody wants to work.
Nobody enjoys work.
Everybody wants to play.
Everyone likes to play.
So you can turn your back on work and start enjoying playing.
The opportunity makes sense.
So here’s the deal.
Years ago, as a baseball player named Joe DiMaggio, he got a hit in 56 straight games.
No one’s come close to breaking that record.
When that streak hit 30 games, every single newspaper in the country began with Did Joe on the front page.
Talked about if Joe got a hit that day when it hit 40 games.
Every newcast on radio and TV in the nation, the first thing the newscaster said it was they talked about if Joe got hit that day when it hit 50 games, every conversation in every street corner in the United States of America began with between two strangers.
Hey, have you heard? Did Joe get a hit today? Bottom line is, my story goes like this.
August 1999, my hero, my mentor, Art Williams, all time favorite speaker, guy by the name of Billet Render, comes to my office and he says these exact words if you recruited Zero directs last month, you don’t believe in the primaric opportunity.
And when he said that, this was my situation, okay, first of all, I was feeling like all that in a bag of chips.
This was an afternoon meeting.
I’m in my late 20s, mid 20s, actually.
It’s 1999.
I got 30 people in the room in an afternoon meeting.
Back then, okay, my numbers look like this.
134 base shop recruits.
That was that year averaging over ten.
Nothing like Annie does that per week.
Anyway, 297,000 premium.
My hierarchy that year, 2000 investment accounts open up, making 226,000 a year.
Not much today.
Back in the 90s, that was some money.
Bottom line, I should have been feeling like all that in a bag of chips.
But how would I feel that day? I felt sick.
Why do you think I felt sick? I felt sick because I know for a fact that was deeply offended when he said, if you recruited zero directs last month, you don’t believe in the opportunity.
The reason I felt sick is because this company rescued my family.
You see, we’re immigrants, we came from the Middle East where there’s persecution and our family was persecuted pretty badly.
We escaped from there.
We’re Christians.
We came to America.
I watched my father work Monday through Saturday, nine till nine, Sundays till six.
We grew up having family dinner at at night.
The hardest working guy I’ve ever met.
My life just trying to make ends meet, put food on the table.
After 23 years of that, his business goes bankrupt, out of business, and his home’s in foreclosure.
Me, I’m just graduating from college with a degree in engineering.
I got my first job.
It’s just paying me enough to pay my bills and my student loan debt.
And my dad’s about to lose everything and live in the street.
And I found the primary option that month.
And I said to myself, and by the way, my dad was partners, my aunt and uncle, who like, second pairs me, I said to myself, I’m going to pay their two mortgage payments.
That’s before I made a dime in Primerica.
My college graduation present was two mortgage payments that were not mine.
And thank God, Primerica showed my life and began to make about a thousand a week part time on top of my job.
Within four months, I quit.
But I made enough money to support my mom and dad, my aunt and uncle, and put my daughter, my younger sister through college and all those things because of the primary opportunity.
And today, me and my wife, my three kids and my first grandson coming any minute now, we are set for life because the primary don’t you tell me I don’t believe in the opportunity, but don’t clap, because he did tell me I don’t believe in the opportunity because why that offend me? Why that hit? Why did that feel like a punch in the gut and a steel dagger going in there and turning and twisting and ripping me apart on the inside? Because the month before I recruited zero directs.
That’s why I felt that way.
Bottom line, I made a decision.
Let me back up to decide.
Something ends with ID.
Other words that end in IDE are words like homicide and suicide.
What does that mean? It means you cannot commit homicide or suicide and then change your mind.
To decide means to put to death all other options.
There is no turning back.
I decided in August 99, never ever again am I ever again allow a month to go by where I recruit Zero directs.
Bottom line, I made that decision.
And then the story goes.
So I made that decision.
August 1999.
The first picture you see is my son Blake.
He was born in February 2006.
Months later, I’m 30 years old.
I wait 30 years to be a dad.
He was born on February 4.
My wife was there.
Bottom line, we’re waiting for this kid to be born.
He was supposed to be born February 2.
He was late.
He’s born February 4.
We hang out.
We come home.
I’m just enjoying being a dad for the first time.
I’ve dreamed of this day for 30 years.
And I also learned that February is the shortest month of the year.
Next thing I know, it’s like February 20 or something.
I’m at zero directs for the month.
Enjoying the moment.
Check this out for a second.
If my streak was not already six months old, I could have easily said, that’s all right, I only become a father for the first time once.
Enjoy the moment.
Go get them in March.
I didn’t want to snap my streak.
I didn’t want to start over again.
No way was I going to start over again on that snapping my streak.
My body filled with adrenaline.
My mind became aware, alert, motivated.
I was looking for anything with a pulse to try to recruit them, okay? And I was not going to be denied.
I was never ever because I decided I was never going to have a Zero next to my name again.
So we got to recruit that month.
Then my whole career in Primerica.
I hear all these big, huge, gigantic earners tell me these, like, month long vacations.
Like Tom Stafford talk about taking his family to Africa and going on safaris for a whole month.
I’m like, yeah, I want to do that too.
I want to build a big business, make a bunch of money and take month long vacations.
I want to take my family to Australia for a month.
And it tore me up for years thinking how can I do that? I’ll snap my streak.
I just can’t do that.
And then it occurred to me you ready for this one? I’m allowed to go from the 15th to the 15th.
That’s still a month.
But I still have two weeks, both months to get my recruit in.
And that’s not my strength.
You don’t understand.
When I figured that one out all by myself, it’s like 1000 pounds fell off my shoulders.
I felt alive and alert and happy again.
So we did that.
We went to Australia for over a month, had a fantastic time, went to the Great Barrier Reef, jumped with kangaroos, did all that stuff and had a phenomenal time.
And I kept my streak alive.
Long story short, can you do that? Well, first of all, do you believe you can? What do you have to offer? And here’s what you have to offer.
Be clear that our guys are taught when they bring up the 124 to get someone to join, they have to explain this.
The 124 is the best value in two worlds.
It’s the best value in the world of education.
Think about what a university or a college charges for a degree, for a class, for a credit hour to teach you a bunch of crap you will never use again for the rest of your dad gum life.
And here 124.
You get education on money.
You learn all the rules about life insurance, IRAs, annuities, stocks, bonds, mutual funds.
That knowledge is worth millions of dollars of difference for your future.
For 124, it’s the best value in the entire planet when it comes to education.
It’s also the best value on the planet when it comes to business.
To hook up with the only company there’s only one, the only company you get to be in the money business and market everything available in the money business.
Insurances, investments and mortgages.
And be able to recruit people and have ownership for you and your family.
And attract and retain the highest caliber of people out there because you can offer them ownership too.
Doesn’t exist outside of here.
And a track record of morphely making 100,000 half million, 2 million than any company United States.
It’s the best value in two worlds.
People think 124 is a lot.
Listen, those same people, you offer them a 2023 Cadillac Escalade for 124, they’ll find the money in 2 seconds.
Okay? This is way better than that.
So, just to be clear, why do we do what we do? You got to know what our mission, our purpose is.
And this fuels the Crusade, the dream and the streak.
So, first of all, we exist to give families a chance to build financial freedom for their families.
What is financial freedom? Let me back up.
There’s two types of people in our country people who want to be financially free, and people who lie.
That’s the only two types, okay? Be clear.
Only two types.
So bottom line is, what is financial freedom? It’s when your passive residual reoccurring income exceeds your living expenses.
Okay? Bottom line is there’s only two ways to achieve this financial freedom.
Only two ways.
One way is to have money work for you.
And if you don’t want to recruit anybody, you got a couple of million dollars, and you invest it for us, we can take care of you.
We’ll invest it, and you’ll be financially free.
Okay? But the other way is that people work for you, and this is the only opportunity where we have both.
You can have money working for you and people working for you.
Amen.
So my whole point is this you can start a streak, too.
How about this streak? Ten new contacts per day, a minimum of six days per week.
Now, don’t snap your streak.
I got to put a plug in for our upline myself.
And Andy’s, you never met her, but the great Virginia Carter, okay? Virginia Carter was she was the only chick amongst the seven starters, and she was tough as nails.
Bottom line I love when she told this story.
She said, years ago, I decided I’m never going a day without making ten new contacts, minimum.
And one day, it was, like, 1155 at night, and I only had, like, eight contacts in.
I need to get two more.
So she called the operator.
You young people.
Google it.
Okay? Come on.
Somebody you remember the operator? Okay, she called the operator.
Remember the number? Yeah.
Zero.
She called the operator, says, you don’t know me.
My name is Virginia Carter.
I’m in a great opportunity in finance services.
Write down my number.
It’s blah, blah, blah.
Repeat it again.
Please call me tomorrow.
You’re not free.
I’ve had an incredible opportunity for you.
God bless you.
Have a good day.
Hung up.
Then she called the only other place that was open back then, 711, okay? And said exactly the same thing.
And she got her ten contacts in that day.
Now, here’s the point.
Those extra two, from 1155 to midnight to the operator, the 711 guy, is that the reason she became a million dollar earner? Are those the two people that got over the top and become one of the biggest builders in the history of the financial industry? No.
However, it was also a 1000% yes, it was that mentality, that vigor, that conviction, that drive, that refusing to lose.
There’s too many people in here that just want to win.
And you wanting to win plus 25 pennies gets you $0.25.
It’s a whole nother level not just to want to win, but to refuse to lose.
Okay? Want to win ain’t nothing compared to refusing to lose.
And that’s where she was at.
So back up for a second.
So how about this? One recruit, two clients per week.
Start a street doing that.
I built my entire business one recruit, two clients per week.
You do that every week for six months, you’re making six figures.
Okay? You’re an RVP making six figures.
Do it every month for two years, you got 20,000 a month raise.
Do it every month for five years, you’re making a million bucks a year, a minimum of one recruit, two clients per week, every week.
Do that, you’ll do great.
How about guests at the OD meeting? A streak of how many weeks in a row where you never don’t have a guest.
No goose eggs from now on.
Here’s the point of this whole thing.
If I keep this streak up for I don’t know how much longer, maybe another decade or so at one point, I’ll be the highest paid guy in the company.
That’s not the point.
The point is this.
Here’s what’s very unlikely.
Husband, wife, get married, have one kid and tons of grandkids.
Very unlikely.
Here’s what’s likely.
Husband and wife get married, have, like, six kids, and then end up with a bunch of grandkids? This has nothing to do with kids and grandkids and everything to do with the fact that the more direct recruits you have, the more direct recruits they can have.
And so on and so on and so on.
Long story short, the point of this whole message is this.
I have a streak of 23 years, eleven months, of one recruit a month, minimum.
Average, about four.
If ten people in this room start a streak of never ever, for next decades, going below two, I will be the 11th highest paid guy in the company.
And whoever ten you are will pass me up like, I’m staying still.
And includes Brisan, Sharp, Nerano and all the rest of them, because they don’t do that.
I’ll close with this.
There’s reasons beyond our understanding why all of us are here right now.
There’s reasons beyond our understanding why these young guys end up on this beach called Normandy back in the 40s, going out of the water to a sea of bullets and watching everyone die around them.
There’s reasons beyond our understanding why people have children in Calcutta, India, and they’ll cut off their baby’s hand because they love their child.
If they don’t maim their kid, when their kid’s out begging for food, they won’t get any, and they’ll starve to death and die.
They prove their love by cutting off their baby’s hand.
There’s reasons beyond our understanding why we’re blessed to be in America.
Greatest country in the world.
No one’s lined up to leave.
And in primerica, the greatest opportunity in the face of the earth.
When it comes to hours, you put in how much you can help people and how much money you can make.
It’s not just to get by and barely exist, but so you can do something huge and gigantic and incredible with your lives.
God bless you all.
Thanks for listening.
